I said it before, they need a figurehead to lead an Iranian revolution, if this is to work out the way we hope. Pahlavi has to cultivate this, both internationally and within Iran, himself. And it appears he has started doing the legwork now.

this is just like Iraq does not equal we are fighting Israel’s war (unless this is an unintentional admission on your part that you think our involvement in Iraq fit this bill)

You are conflating tangentially related statements that do not say what you claim. Yes, they do “have a shred of bearing on the current conflict in 2026” but they, in no way, assert that we are fighting Israel’s war. To the contrary, I explicitly pointed out in my previous post the primary reason that I think we are fighting this war and it has nothing to do with Israel.
And, lastly, this is a lie:
You actually seem pretty hung up on him and what he said. You can’t resist rehashing some dumb X post by him that was shared 10 days and 166 pages ago. A post where Walsh didn’t even forcefully argue against the war and only called himself a skeptic. Get a fricking grip.

Looks like we’re going to have to at least use some marines, delta, and maybe ranger recon at the very least for ground force operations.

He's been doing this for a long time, now.
The US perception is that he is a snake. A liar who will say whatever it takes to accomplish whatever he personally wants. And we don't trust him.
Some skeptical Iranians will argue on his behalf. Iranians have a singular vision. Remove the IRGC. But once that is done, they are extremely divided and heterodox on next steps forward. Pahlovi could unite several different factions (that is what snakes and liars are good at) to get some direction forward post IRGC.
If you are not rooting for Pahlovi, then you are rooting for the Artesh to overthrow the IRGC and self-determine next steps forward.
Personally, I am for the Artesh. I trust a peoples army (conscription) more than I trust a remnant from a monarch to be focused on the people of Iran.

If the goal is to actually take out the regime then yes. Airstrikes alone won’t do it.

I apologize profusely. I read so many of your posts that sounded critical about Trump, Israel, and US stated motives for military action against Iran (or "bullshite" as you like to call them), that I mistakenly lumped you in with the people who say Trump does "Bibi's" bidding, often to the point of suggesting our President might even place Israel's interests above those of the USA. And then you jumped to Walsh's defense when I questioned if he was doing exactly that in the context of an ongoing war. I hope you understand how I became confused. Nevertheless, I'm now convinced that you would never play that game during wartime, and I promise to never mistakenly conflate, tangentially or otherwise, your words again. So to be fair, the statement below was made shortly prior to the onset of hostilities.
