Bodies of Iranian sailors arrived at the Galle mortuary on Wednesday after a submarine attack on the Iranian warship IRIS Dena.
A US submarine sank an Iranian warship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Wednesday, dramatically widening Washington’s pursuit of the Iranian navy.
Sri Lanka’s deputy foreign minister said at least 80 people were killed in the attack on the frigate IRIS Dena, which was heading back to Iran from an eastern Indian port.

China to send special envoy to mediate
Mediate implies "middle", i.e., neutral. Might be difficult to find a neutral party to mediate, from China or anywhere else.

Open question to the supporters of the special military operation in Iran.
What does victory look like to you?
Is regime change necessary for victory? Would you accept a crippled Iran with its MIC destroyed + a comprehensive nuclear weapons agreement with the current regime still in power?
If Iranian citizens don’t rise up, do you support inserting US troops to remove the regime by force? What about arming various factions?
Just curious what victory looks like to supporters and how they imagine it being achieved.

Maybe how it all went down.
We'll never know.

If you don’t change the regime then all of this is a futile effort. Leaving the current regime does not change the mindset of the leadership and likewise you leave the population that supported you easy targets of retribution. If you’re not willing to finish a job, then don’t start the demolition

Today I went shopping. The state of the city was like this:
The police station had been emptied out, the colonel of the country was sitting on the asphalt on the corner of the street, the checkpoints were nervous and frustrated and hateful toward ordinary people, graffiti on the walls that said "No to ceasefire." There was plenty of goods too. In short, we're fine. Trump, strike the thorn and frick their mothers...

I would be disappointed with anything short of regime change. Any “deals” with them is just inviting them to start their militarization back up down the road. Next time a dem is president they will probably send them a few hundred billion to help
This is a religious war for their regime. You can’t make peace with people who believe it is their duty to kill infidels if you are one of the infidels. Short of regime change we are just kicking the can down the road again like we have ever since they took power half a century ago
If the Iranian people don’t take this opportunity, I would support Balkanizing their country by arming separatist groups. They can either have their country whole, or in shambles, but they don’t get to have a fanatical Muslim theocracy without consequence
