Everyone needs to take a deep breath and look at the big picture. For 40+ years Iran has been begging for a beating. All the while, they’ve been getting stronger bolder and more dangerous. In the last decades they’ve gotten close to building a nuke. Cyber attacks and limited precision strikes have been adequate to delay progress. But, and this is a big but, the Iranians are not as stupid as they look. They have been tunneling miles into granite to continue their nuclear ambitions out of reach of conventional weapons.
Up until they become a nuclear power, the only real cards they hold is the ability to hold hostage a vital international shipping lane. They have zero authority to close or mine or in any way threaten shipping in international waters.
President Trump has correctly determined that a temporary closure of the international shipping lane by the terrorist state of Iran is a small price to keep nukes out of terrorists weapon arsenal.
We have unfortunately lost 13 brave men and women. Iran has lost 100s of top leaders and their entire navy and Air Force and thousands of missile launchers and munitions. Billions of IRGC monies have been seized.
President Trump is showing tremendous strength in allowing Iranian leaders ample time to make a wise decision.
It’s been 38 days of military action followed by 6-7 weeks of blockade and economic pressure. It could take longer to get a bathroom and kitchen remodel completed.

We’ll never truly know what the strategy was until the books are written.

Their only compass is TDS. It guides them to whatever information will reinforce orange man bad.

You know Iran hates the west and wants to murder you and your family right?
Trump only has so many (limited) options before congress must approve.
It’s okay to support trump as president and say he needs to get this shite over with.

Lay out a plan to the congressional leaders and go get a vote. There are enough democrats who can be pushed to vote for an actual plan.

That’s basically where I’m at. We are clearly not willing to totally annihilate Iran leaving their civilians in utter ruin as well as the government. Sadly that’s what it would likely take to get a regime change. We have set their nuclear ambitions back decades. That may be the best we can hope for.

It is comical how people on here offer definitive strategy assessments with about 0.1% of the information. Trump and his advisors are smart people. They have way more information than is being made public, and they are no doubt using AI and war game tools that are beyond our imagination.
This does not mean that they are always right or that things will end well. But it does mean that definitive statements about strategy or outcome on this message board (overly positive or overly negative) are a big waste of time. You could change one little key fact that none of us know and the whole picture could be completely different.

Then you are comfortable with Iran’s terror proxies terrorizing the Middle East for another 15-20 years and letting radical Islam retain a strong foothold.
Now they have the ultimate leverage card in closing the straight of Hormuz whenever they please to fulfill a demand.
Last but not least, they will be only emboldened to go after nuclear weapons once they are rebuilt and their economy recovers.

What, you mean all these military advisors, strategists, and experts here aren’t all knowing?
This is disconcerting.

Pezeshkian has allegedly tried to resign again, but the IRGC run Tasmin news agency says the report below is not true.

Hmmmm... interesting news!
So what has happened to cause the IRGC to attack the Kurds in the North of Iran?
Was this a preemptive strike?
Is there military activity against the IRGC that we haven't heard yet?
Does the IRGC feel invincible now that the USA hasn't shown the willingness to strike Iran save a tit for tat thing here and there?

So smart that they believed this conflict would be over in a couple of weeks when everyone else in the world knew better. So smart they didn't have a plan for when Iran inevitably shut down the Strait of Hormuz. So smart that they literally have no idea what to do next. So very smart. The smartest.

They have been targeting the Iraqi Kurd groups who are anti PMU and anti IRGC at random times during the cease fire. They attacked the main headquarters/base of the Iraqi Kurds a couple of weeks ago, not long after Esmail Ghaani met with pro Iran forces and and then left.
