I’ve almost made this same exact thread a couple of times but I always delete it before clicking “submit”
Very true out here in PAC NW - even older white liberal women are starting to take their mask off when walking around outside (finally) but the blacks are still rocking them (outside in 90 degree weather) at a 95% clip. Since you only see a few blacks people per day in Portland it’s taken me longer to reach this conclusion - interesting that y’all are seeing the same thing in other parts of this formerly great nation

I expect the much higher death rate in the black community is why mask use is so much higher. They know people who’ve died.

You ever been in a really scary movie in theater with a bunch of black people? There's your answer......they scare easily.
I kid, I kid. Not about the scary movie part, that part's true, but not sure that's your answer. Now that I think about it tho, it seems to fit together.
All that said, is it really a thing that the covid death rate amongst blacks is that much higher? Serious question. If so, is that a genetic thing, or is it an environmental thing, or something more to do with comorbidity factors being a skew within that sector??

I've noticed it but it's the victim mentality that has been injected into their brains by the media outlets is the reason why. Covid is racist and white supremacist Asains made it so they must keep mask on

It is strange to believe and trust the govt when it comes to Covid 19 dangers, not trust the same govt about the vaccine, but then believe the govt that masks help.

They have higher rates of obesity, and diabetes. The sugars. But dark skin is a disadvantage too.
Americans are vitamin D deficient because of our largely sedentary lives, we don’t go outside enough, we don’t get enough sunlight. The problem is more pronounced in the black community, because they have much darker skin.

We did a nighttime event at the zoo, and the group was disappointed, to the point of groans, when the guides told us masks were mandatory. As in, not one person was wearing a mask…except the lone black family out of about 50 folks splitting into groups. (They also still did the 10-15 person group thing, and wouldn’t let groups be anywhere near each other).
There was a party going on, and you could see people crammed into the event space and I overheard the black family (adults) obsessively talking about how there was “nary a mask on sight.”
They think “we” are stupid. We think wearing a mask is stupid. Propaganda is a powerful tool. One side is right and both sides are convinced they are the right side.

This. The mask is like a 'blanky'. There is a feeling of security in wearing it; and likely a hit of dopamine.
Nothing unusual about this; hell, this is human nature 101. Liberals follow their (good person) virtue-signaling instincts over the idealistic cliff for that feeling. With real destruction coming from it.

I interact with lots of black people on a daily basis. Not a single one of that I have talked to about it is vaccinated. That's why they still wear masks. They are afraid of the virus AND the vaccine.
The great irony in American politics is that southern whites and blacks don't vote for the same party. The number one thing both groups have in common (in my experience) is a strong distrust of the government. They share many other cultural, religious and family values.
This wedge is driven between us on purpose, mostly by democrat leadership but partly because of distrust between the races. It's quite sad really.

Granted, Saint Floyd ate the “risk” for the ill conceived benefit of lack of evidence, but we are on the same page.

It’s been my general observation that blacks tend to be more germaphobic. They will flat out use the hell out of some hand sanitizer in a restaurant setting. It’s also not unusual to see them place all of the silverware into a large glass of hot water or simply eat with plastic ware

Yes, they wear it to show that they’re oppressed even though wearing it is oppression. Notice also that they rarely wear mask over their nose.
