On a related note, lots of the masks are very “stylish’. I’ve seen tons of sequined masks, leopard print, etc etc.

Maybe because blacks as a group are more susceptible to covid?

But if anyone remembers, they were not wearing them initially, when their masters were telling them the virus was no big deal. It was mths & mths before I noticed any wearing them except at stores where they had to to get in.I now seem them wearing them in the parks, everywhere.

Speaking only for myself: I am scared of COVID symptoms that don't go away. I don't want to end up like the Texas Roadhouse founder.

Not that long ago the media and politicians were lying stating that COVID disproportionately affected ppl of color. And those ppl still believe the bs I’m sure.

Technically that's true. They tend to have more pre-existing conditions

You know someone who had perpetual symptoms?
I had it with no symptoms and only found out when I requested my primary check for antibodies with my routine labs. Based on everybody I know who's had it and especially my experience I wouldn't be too worried

Personally? No. I read horror stories on the OT though (which I guess is a self-selecting sample).

You're right though, it isn't super common so I shouldn't worry so much.

My sister had them for 3 months. She’s 45 and in great shape (marathon running shape). I had it very early on and other than it making me a social pariah for a while, it was like a bad chest cold. No biggie. Just lucky, I guess.

Are you saying they don’t take care of themselves?
