This is yet another one of those "is Obama more dishonest or inept?" issues.

And the media HAS to be complicit in some way because if the true story breaks, the one where Bowe is a deserter and even Taliban sympathizer, the Obama Administration would likely take a huge hit; but if it does not break, the millions of mindless masses will think this was a good thing by Obama, "bringing our boy back home!"

Heard what the first words his father said were at the White House presser?

LINK

quote:

“What none of these media is reporting is that the father’s (SGT Bowe Bergdahl’s father Bob) first words at the WH were in Arabic – those words were “bism allah alrahman alraheem” – which means “in the name of Allah the most gracious and most merciful” – these are the opening words of every chapter of the Qur’an except one (the chapter of the sword – the 9th) – by uttering these words on the grounds of the WH, Bergdahl (the father) sanctified the WH and claimed it for Islam. There is no question but POTUS knows this.”

I wonder how much intel he shared with ol' Taliban. We viewed it as a kidnapping, he viewed it as a perfectly executed plan.

Hopefully his platoon that has been speaking out about this recently will have something concrete on this deserter.

So we traded 5 high ranking Taliban officials for some frick who up and walked off base, forsaking his duty.

Meanwhile:

A decorated vet sits in a Mexican jail for a wrong turn.

4 Americans waited for assistance for 9 hours under attack and died waiting.

Fabulous.

I am not convinced that these 5 prisoners did either. They were Taliban military men and one political appointee, Secretary of the Interior for a province I believe.

You really have to wonder who Obama really has decided to side with....

This appears to be either complete ineptitude on the part of the Obama Administration or outright defiance and recklessness.

There are so many question but here are a few...

This guy has been held for 5 years by the Taliban and apparently sought them out...yet somehow, according to the WH Press Secretary, we knew that he was 30 days away from dying due to health reasons if we did not act immediately. How did they know his exact health...yet why are they still allegedly analyzing his health in Germany at the moment?

How many of you knew about this guy before the weekend - I didn't?

Why trade five high value targets and not one or thirty...how was this negotiated?

From NC_Tigah...how can the WH tout this guy as a hero (already) and say Snowden is a villain? A traitor is a traitor...right?

Yeah, I really liked the guy, but he's clearly losing it.

The answer to that question is both.

This exact same trade has been reported on numerous times over the past 30 months, including by all of the major news outlets. Each time it "fell through" for one reason or another, usually citing Karzai's opposition or congressional objections as the two major obstacles. Karzai will be out of the picture in 12 days and the change in wording concerning release of prisoners, often cited on this board the past couple of days, combined with the VA scandal peaking last week, made it worth the risk for Obama (at least in his mind).

Yeah, I'm not a fan, but what was said was said.

Did you ignore that?

Because it's the same, right?

Invoking your deity in gratitude because something good has heppened in your life.

It's fine by me, but I also know some people are going to take offense to it. I also know some opportunists are going to harp on it to score political points.

Such is the American way these days.

Nothing specific to Gitmo. But you might want to check Article 1, Section 9 about Habeas Corpus.

Napolitano said the greater law broken was that Obama "aided and abetted a terrorist organization" by giving them assets. Who cares. Obama sucks big time. We'll pay.

Those low lifes will be back on the front page with blood and guts all over the place, and we'll see how Obama is celebrated then. Not that he can do any wrong in the minds of the bots.
