Nobody's saying that a President can't do signing statements.

Oh yeah. I've long maintained that the bureacratic intertia and the entrenched interests are way too powerful for one man to curb.

Must say I'm stunned at your readiness to give obama a pass on this. You know the body count from obama's gaffs is really starting to add up. Since we can assume this trade will put all of our soldiers serving in that region in danger of being abducted and used as pawns to create another potential swap what's the potential fallout from this debacle? What happens if obama now gets a knee jerk reaction [or Congress asserts its authority under the Constitution] and suspends any further prisoner swap with the terrorist? Let's say the Taliban terrorist realize they cannot use an abducted American soldier in an attempt to recreate this prisoner swap. Are you going to watch [with his loved ones] as they behead that poor soldier? For sure, I'm only speculating here. But I would argue my scenario is more plausible now that your pal NOBAMA has emboldened these terrorist.
However, I know you give zero fricks about that because all you're worried about is protecting your pal OBAMA, so I don't expect you to share my reservations about this danger your pal obama has created.
Sleep comfy obamahead....and know that somewhere a brave soldier is dying for your miserable arse.

Our Governing system (3 Branches) was set-up to slow down or even stop an out of control President, Congress, or Senate for that matter. Sometimes gridlock is a good thing, and it's for the better good more than not when it happens. I personally don't want one voice or group telling all Americans what we can, can't, or should do. Do you really want this environment? All of us will have no way to stop extreme views that many Americans don't agree with. Well, making Government employees, agents, and bad teachers accountable is tougher than controlling a child's excitement when walking through Disneyland's front gates, but that's another long story...lol. I think there have been Governments that force beliefs/ideology upon their people and they're usually called dictatorships if I'm not mistaken. Oh yeah, seems many people these days are OK with this way of one-way-street Governing. As long as it's their side/party who's controlling things or driving the Car. It's shameful, wrong, and unamerican to have these feelings, in my opinion.
Our Forefathers didn't get everything right but they sure understood the human condition (chance of being corrupted by power), the importance of having balanced governing, and how we humans handle things like this. The system they created was revolutionary, and I'm not sure if another one will ever top it, well........what's left of it after 70 or so years of dismantling those cautionary protections in our Constitution. Our Presidents have been getting worse & worse over the years with how much abusive power they exercise. Seems we've lost our minds since 9/11 too, and it kills me to think the Terrorist love how we've been handling things since.
If you believe in Democracy, how can anyone defend the moves by this Obama Administration. I hear some now, and I don't care what's been done by others in the past because two wrongs never make a right. So that argument is as childish as they come, and I hate to go all extreme now, but when someone rapes someone does that give us the right to go ahead and do it too, just because it was done before? No it doesn't!!! Anyways, no matter how you feel about Congress, they were voted in by the people just like our President is. Both parties & others are represented in Congress voted in by the people, and that's why Congress should be involved with our Governing decisions.
Washington is so out of touch with America's needs & wants. What might work in Oregon might not work for New York state, and this one glove fits all governing Washington does isn't a great plan. It's way past time, Washington needs to change the way they've been doing things. We've gotta get them further away from this delusional bubble they've got Washington DC inside of, would be a good or even great start. Bet we'd all get things done quicker, get things done more efficient, and spent money wisely if Washington had to live by the same rules. If Washington felt the effects from what they decide others have to live by. Things would get done, and accountability has to be had too. We saw what Washington thought of the ACA when push came to shove didn't we?
What Obama just did with this 1 for 5 terrorist swap without notifying Congress was Obama's Administration thumbing his nose at the American people themselves. We voted for those Congressman & Senators, and all Administrations at some point forget they work for everyone it seems, but this Obama Administration is the worst offenders of this in my lifetime. Obama & his Administration attack Americans that don't agree with them every second they can. I don't recall ever watching a speech by Oabama where he didn't attack fellow Americans during it. It's kinda of sad to watch to tell you the truth, and I hope people have the guts & conscience to call it what it is. Obama & his Administration think they don't have to follow our laws, and this is what an out-of-control President/Administration looks like. Hopefully Americans learn from all this but not enough people will most likely. America's uninformed culture that falls for these classic divisional tactics all the time from both sides might be what breaks the camels back in America. Especially from the leadership within the Democratic party these days. What the heck has happened to their ranks the last 10 yrs? They've lost their way, but maybe America will be better from it when enough people realize what our important priorities are again. You don't help the weak & needy from weakening the strong. Just imagine if a wolf-pack used this strategy, that wolf-pack would fail overtime. Time will tell if America wakes up, it always does. I sure hope America does............

Call for his impeachment on those grounds. We were specifically discussing him breaking the 30 days notice law as grounds for impeachment.

I would submit for your consideration our Founding Fathers who had to make the difficult decison to confront the abuses of the Crown and call for a change in their government. Evidence of abuses by this Administraton.....
1) Affordable Care Act - Passed without any debate or chance for the loyal opposition to argue against the legislation, and in spite of widspread opposition from the American people.
2) Fast & Furious - Gunrunning weapons to Drug Cartel operatives. Weapons used to kill a U. S. Border Agent and many innocent Mexican and American citizens. Efforts to hinder, deceive and obstruct the Congressional Investigation into F & F by the Attorney General resulted in a Contempt of Congress citation against the AG.
3) IRS Scandal - Use of a government agency [IRS] within the Executive Branch to target conservative opponents of the Administration, effectively preventing those conservative opponents from their right to express and organize their [legal] opposition to the policies of this administration. Efforts by Executive Branch officials to hinder, deceive and obstruct a Congressional Investigation resulted in a Contempt of Congress citation against an IRS section head.
4) Bengahzi Scandal - Gunrunning weapons to Libyan Rebels, then attempting to buyback the weapons with the intent of diverting those weapons for use by Syrian Rebels. Further, the Secretary of State appearing before Congessional Committee, did engage in efforts to hinder, deceive and obstruct efforts by Congress to determine the cause and enact laws to prevent further abuses in this regard.
5) Prisoner Swap - Executing an illegal trade of five (5) high profile terrorist for one (1) American traitor and deserter, without notifying Congress under the law defining conditions for the trade as signed by the President.
