Nothing is shifting. They cite one film without dripping progressive encoding among a galaxy of left wing films featuring climate apocalypse, DEI recasts, and lgbtq sex smeared all over the silver screen. You could have written this same article about a Mel Gibson film 20 years ago. None of the agenda driven stuff will change any time soon.

There is a price to be paid to educate the unwashed. Hollywood knows that.

This is false.

My first non-OP post ITT:
Neat.

Then you went on to say it’s a “paradigm shift”, which is what created many of the responses saying no, that’s silly, there is no overall shift to the right. It’s simply to make a profit. You shifted heavily as the thread went on to “Hollywood is extending an olive branch to you red state hicks, but yall are just too backwards to realize it”.

The constant hyper focus on semantics is tiresome. Why don’t we point out how you immediately interjected slavery into your own thread on page 1 when you’re constantly berating everyone to “stay on topic” and “read”? And when someone responds to your ridiculous slavery tangent with a comment about the nuclear family, well, that’s just silly, off topic, and not worthy of discussion. Why are we even talking about the nuclear family, that’s silly! Oh yea, it’s because you brought up slavery in your thread about movies, Mr. Intellectual Consistency.

The enlightenment and the abolition movement that sprung from it was not a leftist movement. It was Christians who decided that slavery was an abomination and worked to have it outlawed in the US and Great Britain. Later, it was Progressives like Woodrow Wilson and Margaret Sanger who proposed eugenics against inferior races. Hence, Planned Parenthood.

There was no shift. This has been easily proven for decades.

Why do y'all have to always resort to lies?

It's not my fault they confuse simple words.

"Hollywood" and the movies it makes are 2 different things. This thread is about the movies (and American culture, not Hollywood culture).

People trying to create stupid talking points isn't my fault. I did try to correct them (largely respectfully), though.

quote:

I made a point. Someone offered a stupid response (which was the first injection). I offered a pretty universal example to show the stupidity of the response. The reason to rely on slavery is that universality.

quote:

when you’re constantly berating everyone to “stay on topic”

I kept on topic.

quote:

And when someone responds to your ridiculous slavery tangent with a comment about the nuclear family, well, that’s just silly,

Because my history on this issue is long established and well settled. Trying to create a lie about it is the silly part.

Youre just hoping.

There is nothing to back it up. Its purely emotional ranting.

"Liberal" isn't always left. For instance, liberal gun laws are the purview of the right.
