Ok. If you’re saying they are making for-profit movies to capitalize on a perceived culture shift, then yes, fully agree, and that has basically always been the case.

But if you’re saying this current crop of movies is proof the culture of Hollywood is shifting right, that’s laughable. Silly, even.

My first non-OP post ITT:

quote:

It's an example of how culture shifts back and forth (but in an advanced society, the net it always a slight move to the left).

A free market helps create the avenue for the pendulum to swing back, and you're seeing that in movies..

Apparently conservatives go to movies, too. This shite isn’t that hard to figure out.

Thats assuming movies are made to entertain and not spew propaganda

Moving to a more advanced, liberal society is why slavery became outlawed.

The more conservative a society is, the more freedom its citizens have.

Some people can’t seem to separate big government Republicans (RINOs/Diet Democrats) from the legit conservatives.

Depends on how you confine conservative.

Theyre nothing like we are.

In fact, they have more in common with the neo puritans (progressives) than American conservatives.

Right, all those left wing techno-topias nationwide. China, Russia, North Korea, etc.

Amazing nations.

Funny you had to use authoritarian states (ie, not advanced) to try to make your point

China did become a lot more liberal as its adopted more Western economic principals and decreased authoritarianism in its economy. Now that some economic/demographic time bombs are about to explode (and while Xi is consolidating power), they are cracking down more.

How are they not like US conservatives?

Deeply religious, anti-abortion people who come from countries with low taxes and favor traditional families. Also generally in favor of oil production and pro-fossil-fuel policies.

They're going to try to win back the White man. Just more evidence that the fix is in for Trump.

It sure doesnt agree with your point

Who would have thought the NOrks were the bastion of advancement.

Your statement made sense in the liberal expansion. Liberalism is dead. The Left is now full on progressive.

Economic freedom. The primary reason.

They re more like puritans, which Progressives more closely resemble.

Except Weimar Germany. Which was dealing with transgenderism and child sex exploitation.
