quote:

New York City DSA co-chair Gustavo Gordillo: “Landlords in New York have been making a 12% return on their investment.”

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum: “How much should they make? What’s fair for the landlord to make?”

Gustavo Gordillo: “We don’t think that anyone should have a constitutional right to double-digit returns on their investment.”

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum: “What are you talking about?”

These EVIL Communists must be DEFEATED at all costs.

Holy Shite.

So, sell the mayors mansion and give the funds to the poors.
How much is this loser worth? Trust fund kid? Give all of yours first to set an example, eh?

BTY, it is a known FACT that conservatives give much more to charity than leftists. Leftists want the government to confiscate it from "them" while they still live their comfortable lives.

He said nobody has a "right" to that return, which is true. He's not specifically talking about this in the abstract.

He's not making a good point, mind you, but the title misses what he's trying to say (poorly)

This is why socialism/communism always fails. Success is frowned upon.

True dat

in FACT - what he was ACTUALLY trying to 'say" (if that is how you want to derail the conversation" is this.

Government should confiscate excess

Naw

He even used a reference to bootstraps. He's trying to use conservative language as a gotcha and to make people seem like hypocrites. That's why he was cleared to discuss it in terms of Rights and even reference the Constitution.

You have to understand the framing of this discussion, which involves the New York City Rent Guidelines Board. They are not discussing a free market and it's specifically about government regulation.

Screw that loser. I’m looking at double digits again this year, and an awesome retirement car if the returns keep going that way.

He can take the subway to the bread line.

WTF does he mean about a constitutional right to double digit returns. Try reading the Constitution. It’s not a classified document. It’s readily available.

OK - I retract - did not know that - but if the NYCRGB is part of the background discussion, then I'm out

I retract prior remark
