re: Nvidia CEO says using the term "China Hawk" is a badge of shame, it's unpatriotic.

The year was 1997. This was a year into the website I created for our company. I actually started with an AOL created website a year before that.

Might want to turn off all the lights in the room to appreciate it in all its glory.

The fact that these mega corps still haven't figured out the best way to monetize their products.

Oh they are figuring it out fast. I’ve invested in a start up AI implementation company. They are working with some large retailers - some with more than 3,000 stores - to implement AI in each store. They are detecting thefts, reporting on store employees not following protocol, detecting employees shutting down the stores for extended lunches, detecting the wrong kind of waste being disposed in dumpsters, and many other things. In another two or three years, every store you go into will have AI tracking you, identifying you, sending a report on you to the store manager so that he knows your spending history and preferences and whether you are a thief or a genuine customer.

There were plenty of people worrying about their own arse in Soviet Russia. Self-interest isn't a feature of capitalism. It's basic human nature.

On War Room, Friday I think…SKB said live that this dude “belongs in a fricking prison.”

Steve normally says “fricken” but this time he dropped a full blown F bomb.

AI has been tremendously oversold and overhyped. The bubble is bursting.

AI couldn't even tell the difference between photos of a cat or dog 7 years ago, but we have self driving taxis on the road today.

TF are you talking about?

Yep. The consumer side will do its thing. The commercial side is already deep into its thing.

Ive studied spanish for years, all sorts of programs: Destinos, Language Transfer, Rosetta Stone, Espanol con Juan, QRoo spanish, etc. Nothing and I mean nothing touches Langua AI.

This program is voice activated and better than the tutor I used to have. Far better than ChatGPT if you are trying to learn a language, it is specifically designed for language learning, its not just a translator.

Simple example, it asked me to translate "you dont listen to me". I responded with an expression akin to "you dont take me on at all". I expected it to correct me, instead it responded "Trini very Mexican, this is exactly the way you would answer in an informal discussion in Mexico".

It corrects your pronunciation, and grammar and explains what you did wrong with examples, then the algorithm will use that later to repeat, in various ways what you missed before.

A small example of AI, but imagining this applied to engineering, production, logistics, limitless the productivity gains.

Well, then we've alread lost. Gen X is the last age group with a high enough work ethic to compete. The gens coming after regularly post videos in tears about 8-10 hour work days and talk incessantly about their "mental health".
