My cousin has polio. He's in his 60s. He has no use of his legs. In my life, I've have never known him to not have a job. He is probably at work right now, as I type this.
Bless him! And, yes, I'd be more than happy for someone like him to get free EBT/SNAP/welfare/whatever help for the rest of his life if he ended up ever reaching a point where his health prevented him from continuing to work. If he's worked most or all of his life then he deserves it. That's what society should be doing and that was supposed to be the benefit of welfare and assistance - to help people who are temporarily down on their luck to get back onto their feet, and to help people who, due to absolutely no fault of their own (or even certain forgivable dumb mistakes that any of us could have made) have lost the ability to care for themselves but do what they can. And also the elderly, who have worked their entire lives but are too old to really do much anymore. THOSE are the people we should be helping and I'd be proud to help.
But NEVER able-bodied entitled assholes who *could* work but are just too damn lazy to do so. Screw them! I have zero sympathy for them and do not care if they literally starved to death. And I know they wouldn't because there is a TON of free food out there and plenty of charities and food banks to provide free food.
These people are just lazy, incompentent, dumb, and useless. We should not be supporting them and their terrible behavior and habits. AT ALL.

Screw having off-duty cops as security.
The Wal-mart here has a fully outfitted local police officer, usually sitting in a chair at one exit staring into his cellphone.

Those people are already revolting. They stink on ice.

It better not be old deputies who get knocked down and their guns stolen.
Happened at the old Walmart on Perkins at Acadian and the poor female cop got her head blown off.

Yes
But he should be working too

That's part time even for part time standards. I have a full time job and could pick up a second job working 80 hours a month if I really had to

Believe Soylent Green was set in 2022.

The riots and looting will be legendary.
Seriously, we’re gonna need more guns.

the positive impact this will have not only on the budget, but on society as a whole (stop being a lazy bum), cannot be overstated. the big, beautiful bill was worth it based on this piece alone.

I had to stop reading after the first 1/2 dozen or so posts. I don't want to get banned, and there's no way I won't if I have to hear any more of that "Ghetto shite"

Key word: "able bodies". How is that interpreted.

The reason many conservatives (not me) support food stamps, welfare, etc, is because it is basically a bribe to the poor to keep the barbarians at the gate.
This is proof that is accurate.

I bet there is some loophole about having small children, like regular people with small children don't work.

Good for her. I wouldn't want to show up at work either and get put in the middle of all these people saying they are gonna steal from Wal-Mart.
