Wish we were still a Christian nation that respected the institution of marriage.

How many "Christians" are living in sin?

Luke 16:18: "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

Shouldn’t an actual Christian know everyone lives in sin?

Damn, as the only Jew that sticks around, I felt that.

Let's focus on the great society, OP.

You clearly haven't been married to some of our ex-wives. But thanks for playing.

How is it that there are several non Christian nations that are far far safer and have a much more obedient populace than we do here?

Our legal system has made marriage a very poor investment for men.

A man puts at risk half of his wealth and his kids. And kids were the purpose of the arraignment in the first place.

If this was presented as a financial investment, no reasonable person would do it.

We need marriages like they had in the Old Testament. Multiple wives that are are basically the equivalent of house servants. And if they disobeyed, you could keep them in line with a good slap or two.

Sounds nuclear all right.

“No Fault” divorce makes sense when no minor children are at issue, but I have long questioned its wisdom when kids are involved.

Every day. Even though I try to be a better person today than I was yesterday.

quote:

Luke 16:18: "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

What about if the woman left the man and sought out a divorce? When I married, my intentions were to marry for the rest of my life. My only way out would have been adultery, physical, drug, alcohol, or sexual abuse --- and/or complete disrespect towards me.

As far as I know, none of those happened, but that didn't stop her from leaving, and never looking back.

It's fine now, and I will always respect her as a mother of our children. I do believe that divorce today is too easy, and that is because we live in a throwaway society. Marriages are not sacred or treasured as they once were.

And social media only complicates matters, and often times make it worse. Plus you have many disgruntled women in their relationships, and when they all come together, there is a toxicity like no other.

“Social media is designed to make you think: “Maybe I should be somewhere else, doing something else, with someone else. But if you always think your happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are.” - Steven Bartlett

There are a lot of things that do not function as God intended because we are flawed human beings with a sin nature. We have hope though. Jesus will return and we will spend eternity with Him.

From a secular standpoint, we've created a world where women don't need men. It all goes back to when birth control pills were put on the market. Now they can choose if they have children which frees them to work and earn their own living. There are no real outside threats that they need men to protect them from. Having a family and staying together is a luxury that you have to choose to hold onto. Being a Christian nation isn't going to change any of that. Christianity encourages people to make selfless choices like staying in marriages and taking care of children.

Guess god is flawed with a sin nature too. Even he gets divorced. Remember when god let some of his sons down from heaven and they raped the earthly women and created an evil giant superhuman race (Genesis 6 “Nephilim”)? God divorced us by killing every human and animal not on Noah’s ark. He even killed the fish and the grass and the trees. He had to start over.

If a woman is constantly being a crazy disrespectful b*tch and you don’t have kids with her yet, divorce her now before it’s too late.

I’m fortunate, but I’ve seen marriages that simply weren’t going to ever work, even after therapy and prayer. As we all have.

My brother and his ex are like best friends now and really happy people, but it wasn’t the case when married I assure you.
