Yea, you are never going to stop that.

I tend to agree. Unless we are going replace the entirety of the federal government every time a new administration comes to power there will always be a deep state of some form. Doesnt mean maintenance doesnt need to be performed but the goal of total break up of the deep state doesnt make sense to me.

You'd need a constitutional amendment altering the 1st.

All the money spent on politics is a symptom, not the disease. Even if you COULD restrict free speech you're still ignoring the root cause.

These bureaus need to go on a massive diet. You may never be able to eliminate cronyism in the unelected appointee class, but you can certainly shrink these departments in a way that makes them much less powerful and far less "in the shadows".

You could get rid of the DOE and FBI (and most of the IRS) tomorrow and literally nothing would change.

One thing we know as a fact. Trump in four years as POTUS never tried to tackle the Deep State. Indeed he took their advice on who to hire often. Trump never went after the major departments of DC or their top leadership. Never even tried. This we know.

Well he sure did something to piss em off!! I don't see them going after anyone else besides Trump.

What a bunch of garbage. He starts off ok but then it’s clear as day that he’s talking out of his arse and doesn’t know shite.

“Paul Ryan’s tax cuts” is one bs statement out of many. What a joke.

I 100% understand how you feel as I feel the same. But please whatever you do VOTE even if it probably doesn’t mean shite since they stop counting at 2 am to bring in thousands of fake ballots. If by some miracle we’re able to stop it then we’ll need your vote. So please vote

Neoliberalism started well after that. And it definitely isn’t in its death throes. It has only just begun.

Not only that, he appointed that very same top leadership.

The only way to reduce the "deep state" is to shut down much of government and bureaucracy.

I am 100000% for it.

This isn't something that has a 4 year solution. We are in much, much deeper than that.

The tide needs to shift. But, it's why the America First movement is much larger than Trump.

It will take a person who runs not on the platform of tearing much of the power structure in DC down. Then does it anyway.
A subtle first term getting as many of their people in high places as possible. Make every promise to the fatcats and powered elites to get a second term. Around here would look like a sellout if leaked. Then on election for second term go full on audits of each and every dept and chop the heads off those depts you don't have any control over. Then don't fly or leave the WH for a good while.

If he can reinstate that exec order ridding federal employees of lifetime positions, he can definitely drain. That was one of the first orders Biden overturned

I don't think Trump is going to "break up the deep state", whatever that is. We can't even define the "deep state". It is some many things in so many areas. It's not just one entity.

As Trump likes to point out, "There are a lot of bad people in Washington, DC."

The deep state is pockets of corruption. The deep state is elected officials who are acting for personal power and wealth, rather than for the good of our country. The deep state is elected officials who use our bureaucracies to control their political oponents and constituents. At the same time there are bureaucrats who control our policitians by using both a carrot and a stick. The deep state is huge corporate donors who have an agenda and form symbiotic relationships with Congressmen.

I am happy to have someone who is willing to say what nobody else will say, and that is to expose the deep state in all of it's manifestations.

I understand. But I think we collapse before we hit enough states to agree to a convention. List the states on board, now. List the most likely 9 or 10 that are apt to get on board. It gets really hard articulating the final 5 or so.

Broad statement - a grownup/informed discussion of a COS would be great for this board.

To your point about the last 5 states, I don't think it would be as difficult as it might seem. State legislatures, especially blue ones LOVE money - and a constitutional amendment that effectively right sized fedgov would be a huge opportunity to claim a shite ton of former federal tax dollars. How many times have we seen reports (and threads on PT) about how, as an example, California is a huge donor state and Mississippi is a big taker state. We know how bogus that argument is, but the Left believes it and so why would they resist keeping their donations at home rather than being distributed to poor red states?

At this point the likes of Trump can only temporarily delay what the deep state has planned, which is the complete and total control of the 95% by the 5% elite. Only when the nation and/or world hits absolute rock bottom will the people do what is necessary to dismantle the deep state. Unfortunately I can only see a very violent end to it. Maybe not in my lifetime but probably in my children’s lifetime, or certainly in my grandchildren’s.

And by deep state, I’m not only talking about the U.S. government, but all western governments.
