Dude, this isn’t about your motives or reasoning for your invasion of Ukraine. It’s about what a fricking idiot you’ve turned out to be. Or you got bad advice from your higher ups in your military that turned out to be dumb clueless fricks.
Weren’t you supposed to sweep into Kyiv and take over within two weeks or less?
Either way, you’re still a dumb arse for not cutting a deal early on when it became apparent TO EVERYONE that this turned out to be an utter disaster.
How you and your government are still in power is mind boggling.

One of the biggest unforced, unnecessary blunders in modern geopolitical history.
Russia - relatively speaking - was on the up and up. And he squandered all of it for nothing.

That chart doesn't add up.
If you have "over 1M" personnel mobilized and/or recruited, how do you have 1.1-1.3M casualties? I suppose that is for "new recruits" and not existing personnel
Also, average deaths per year are between 58K and 110K. Even if you took the high end of 110k x 4.3 years of war = 473k dead
Regardless, I hope it ends soon as there won't be a victor.

in Vlad's defense, a large numbers of the death were from prison labor, so he "killed 2 birds with 1 stone"
and another large portion were from the Ukrainian separatist oblast of Donetsk and Luhansk where

I have a feeling Vlady is going to wind up being hung upside down on meat hooks like Mussolini in full display in Red Square along with a few other selected dumb arse government officials and maybe a mistress or two.

Unless there was something recent, putin never said such a thing. He said from beginning he has no interest going deep into ukraine.

Other than the miserable failed attempt to capture Kiev at the very beginning of the “three day special military operation.”

Yet Russian forces were absolutely destroyed trying to take Kyiv. I guess the presumption is that Putin was unaware of that attempted attack?

He is lucky that idiot general didn't finish his march into Moscow a few years back.

They didn't go anywhere near kyiv. It was outside intelligence that assumed russia was going for kyiv. From that first invasion, putin has been consistent in saying he has no interest in taking over ukraine and they were focused within a certain range of the Russian border. It was likely all posturing to force ukraine to pull back fromt he border areas a bit.

So the videos showing Russian vehicles disabled, and Russian soldiers in uniform killed, in Kyiv in the early days of the war were inaccurate?
Was this not in Makariv, just outside of Kyiv?

Can't wait until Vlad replies to your comment!

I guess it was decision based on the fact that if Ukraine joined NATO, then the group led by the US, who has a published doctrine (PNAC) that implies that Russia is the next target in a global hedgemony plot along with Iraq, Afganistan, Iran, NK, and China, is situated at Russias doorstep. Maybe he felt it was better to fight now than to wait for the inevitable. Maybe it is stupid and miscalculated, but I think most people make comments without a larger understanding of the variables and real happenings that lead to these things. Most of you still have never read the PNAC manifesto, but I am almost 100% positive that Vlad has.
WE put a puppet in place to escalate this, WE have the PNAC dcotrine, WE threatened to have Ukraine join NATO, WE deem Russia an enemy almost solely because we want to be the only super power on the planet, and WE are fighting a proxy war with Russia.
Those are all truths.

Ftom 2025 Al Jazeera:
quote:
On June 20, Vladimir Putin revealed that his ambition to annex all of Ukraine had not abated. “I have said many times that the Russian and Ukrainian people are one nation, in fact. In this sense, all of Ukraine is ours,” he declared at a media conference to mark the opening of the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum on Friday, June 20.
