Hostomel Airport is like 15 miles from the center of Kyiv.

Agreed.
They arent giving them up. Ukraine has shown no offensive capabilities that can take them back. Now is the time for a resolution. Ukraine loses some territory but still gets to be a sovereign nation...Russia can stop the bleeding on its population and industry but they don't get to run Ukraineas a puppet like Belarus.
This is an obvious stalemate unless Russia uses nukes, which would be the end of almost all of us.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that Putin is surrounded by hawks who are advocating a limited nuclear strike. They don't think the US will respond in kind just to save eastern Europe and they call the leaders of the European nuclear powers "mice". So if Putin exits the picture, he might be replaced by somebody much worse. Listen to the Russian a-hole in this video...

In the war thread long ago were X post or reports of how much the Russian people supposed Putin and the war, significant support.
Any reports or posts on how the Russian people support the war now? After viewing the graphic of loss of oil refining capacity, I'd be interested in the support now. Also wondering if troop replacement is now or maybe coming from the larger cities or urban areas?

The Russians never supported the war. That's why they started arresting the people protesting it and millions left the country if they could. It's a failed state that has natural resources and nuclear weapons. They've used their armed forces as cannon fodder. Everyone has lost. This was all stupid.
