Theoretically someone could make such a forbiddance.

Sure, theoretically. And it would immediately be struck down, probably by a judge in Hawaii.

In any event, I asked if you would be ok with it.

After this was pointed out to me years ago, I am still reminded and in awe (not offended) by people invoking the name of Jesus regardless of the usage in grammar.

I don't think I've heard many people invoke the name of other small g's.

Well, the reason I said theoretically was because it would require a particularly outlandish hypothetical to meet the requirements of legally being able to discriminate. If you recall, I said that I couldn't imagine such a scenario where it would be relevant to the job and everything else and I noted that your terms were overbroad. So I suppose my answer is that I could not imagine a scenario where I'd be ok with it.

It's not outlandish at all if they get to control private/non-football actions based on the health of the players.

Are they being persecuted by the Government? No? Exactly.

This one is a no brainer. The NFL needs for it's players to avoid Corona which means no large gatherings. If your church has a large gathering, don't go. Worship from home or in small numbers.

Dumb thing to sky scream about.
screw you mr no brainer!!
they can go to walmart and home depot and wrestle each other to the ground and protest and riot.

you are an idiot. u and your deranged mind.

Well again, in the present case it's very easy to make the connection between the event (being indoors in a crowd) and the operations of the business (Look at the Marlins), further, there are obvious reasonable accommodations that can be made. You've not described the a scenario involving "gay lifestyle" that does meets these requirements.

Only if they are playing a home game and have a 6:00 am church service would they even have a chance.

Unless they are Catholic, in which case every Catholic church in America has a 5:00 PM vigil mass on Saturday.

I asked if you would be ok with it; you could have just answered "no" with your first reply.

But my answer is not no, but rather that I could not imagine a scenario where I'd be ok with it. You get to answer for you and I get to answer for me is how it works.

Anyhow, if it makes you feel better, we are almost certainly not going to have football this fall anyway, so they'll get to go to all the church they want.

Even small numbers are not safe! It is best to avoid all social gathering! That is also including visiting family members or having family members come to your place. That is what it should be set to avoid any chance to get infected from someone else that you have no knowledge where they have gone that might be at a high risk of getting infected.

So, the First Amendment just isn't a thing any longer?

They players agreed to the terms of their employment contract. These contracts have always had prohibition against activities that could result in the player being injured, and not being able to play. They are not prohibiting practicing religion, they are restricting were the players can practice their religion to lessen the risk to their health, and their ability to play.
