New York City turning bad

I had a friend that just came back from NYC . Everything you hear on FoxNews is true. Lots of homeless people, smells like poop, and pee. Rats everywhere. Graffiti all over the place. Residents and people that work in NYC are fed up.

But are the rich paying their fair share?

Sounds normal to me...

NYC has 5 boroughs.
You talking about all of them or just Manhattan?

I live outside of NY city and if you really want to fix these community problems, you have to tax unrealized capital gains, which has to include IRAs and 401Ks. No one needs $500K+ in retirement. There should also be a tax penalty if you sell any assets like Stock or your home below the original purchase price adjusted for inflation. If we can get taxes on this with rates in excess of 90%, redistribute the taxes to sewage and water boards, then we will start seeing vibrant collectives again.

So a typical democrat/socialist run city

Was in NYC two weeks ago. Same as it ever was. About to be back there at the end of the month. Your friend must be a master of hyperbole.

I know your post is 100% tongue in cheek, but you don't distribute anything in NYC without the union bosses wetting their beaks first.

This is fine with me as long as it stays contained to NYC. That city can devolve into hell on earth and it wouldn’t bother me. In fact, it would probably be good overall for the rest of the country.

This isn’t new. 15 years ago it was probably the best really large city in the world. Ever since they walked away from Gulliani/Bloomberg era policies the decline has been striking.

Said it before. They want the good citizens to leave voluntarily because of this, tax the rich out of the state and import a bunch of reliant foreigners.
See London.
