I am not in the habit of entertaining Leftist Fundamentalist economic arguments, just like I don't debate Fundamentalist Sunnis or Christian Fundamentalist snake handlers.

It just makes me dumber and pleases the Fundamentalist.

I get the point. There are stupid amongst us all. There are dumb poor republicans and rich smart democrats. But the opposite is true everywhere just as much.

The idea that dumb poor southerners vote republican is demonstrably false. Poor people in the south for the most part vote democratically. it’s provable by every metric.

Yep. Literally every deep south state....you take the ten poorest counties/parishes, they are all democratic in their voting habits.

Bet it just makes you so mad you could just cut a teacher salary or privatize a prison. Lol.

It makes sense though no matter how much we argue back and forth I could never explain to you how to be empathetic.

I understand that. I understand that it's balanced. It's just hard to tell sometimes from reading this board that any conservative would admit to that.

Your map shows that even though the traditional south isnt at the top, is has a strong concentration of inequality. Louisiana in particular is well represented.

Man, I'm glad I left. I know some of you made your livelihoods in Louisiana and God Bless you. But it's not for me.

Well it is an echo chamber. I get that.

I agree with policy probably 99% of the time with the board. Sometimes it’s ok to say Trump was wrong or an a-hole. Sometimes it’s ok to say “that was an OK Obama policy.” I feel the opposite is true most of the time but there is some common ground out there.

Just as opinion, approach more discussions like your above quote (and the conservatives need too as well) and meaningful dialogue can be had.

I'm retired and on fixed income of about $12K mo. And live very well on the Georgia/Alabama border. My wife and I would be almost poverty stricken in certain parts of America like Ca and NY and Conn. So yeah and in many if not most big cities, we would be stretched and have to do without certain things. There is a reason old people on fixed income move south and to states where their money goes further. That in and of itself skews the numbers.

you should move to ruby red Utah or Alaska for true income equality it appears

regardless, that map shows trying to make a case that income inequality is an effect and the cause is Republican-led governments is pretty flimsy. For Christs sake, California, Connecticut, New York City, and DC are four of the top five areas on the list of income inequality.

of course the issue ends up being much more complex, but I wanted a simple rebuttal to a simple jab

Tools? What tools are these? Sorry, using the government to force equality of outcomes is not a "tool" for success. I know your minimally educated POV makes it impossible to understand why this is a fact but try anyway. Policies that drive away private-sector investments and disincentivize small business growth also are not "tools" for success.

You posted two ridiculous leftist talking points that were completely rebutted by evidence. Don’t try to play the intelligent moderate now.

What was rebutted by evidence? You're just proving my echo chamber point. Also, what leftist talking points are you talking about?

I agree that nobody should just be given anything.

Tools to succeed is probably just same quality of public education.

But the part I just quoted is completely in control of our GOP legislators.

Typical marxists. The rich convince the poor to vote for shitty politics and think they are helping themselves.

It's always the rich who benefit while pretending to be for the poor

Obviously I’m biased but if they would play the intelligent moderate often better conversations could be had.

IM: healthcare is a right. We should provide healthcare to everybody

Me: healthcare isn’t a right, but I’d like to make it affordable to everybody. What do you think we can do to accomplish that without taxing everybody’s balls off or destroying the medical industry?

Stop approaching everything like the other side wants to eat your soul and a conversation can be had.

Every criminal in prison drinks water. Therefore, drinking water causes criminals.

Or Wyoming.

Kinda blows the fallacy away that redistribution is required to advance the middle class. All three have a strong working class

Yes. The very rich prefer to vote Democratic. They prefer crony capitalism.
