Agreed. I think the power plant evacuation and infrastructure hacks is what brought this on. Seems obvious.

That’s a good start. It’s not as overly complicated as it’s made out to be to go fully off grid. A basic understanding of power supply and storage you can DIY it in a couple of weekends. Less if you have an electrician friend.

Cost is obviously prohibitive for some and if you have an HOA, that might be a hurdle.

This is for the data center expansion. They already put data centers outside of the EPA's purview. This administration is bought and paid for at the expense of the average American. November will reflect that in spades. SMDH

You running AC off grid?

I’m looking at a property that I could use as a retreat with no power.

In FL, obviously AC is needed.

Trump may be learning a valuable lesson. Xi is not a good guy and he is not a friend. The United States can be as nice to the Chinese as we can be. Still ain’t gonna make them like us any better. Trump can be nice all he wants but it’s not going to change Xi’s behavior.

You don't think he already knows this? He has been taking their energy supply offline for months now.

Every nation has a Good Twin/ Evil Twin paradigm in the form of nationalist patriots and Deep State apparatchiks.

Xi Jin Ping is no more the entire CCP than Donald Trump is our president en Deep State swampers.

They literally believe Trump being diplomatic is him being best friends with xi. Our country has a lot of dullards, unfortunately.

I have a separate power bank system just for AC. Usually run it from mid March to early October and not every night. About this time of year it begins to be cool enough at night to not need it.

I probably should have purchased smaller, more efficient units for different sections of the house looking back. Something to consider depending on your square footage. We also installed one of those attic fans like your grandparents used to have. Amazing how effective those are at moving hot air out.

Honestly the Ontario thing pisses me off more than the China thing. No part od the US should be reliant on another country for electricity.

Hopefully this is a preemptive workaround to needing some sort of congressional act in order to secure our grid and not a too little too late defense against an imminent threat.

There may be a judge that will question it...I hope not.

quote:

To deal with the threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, the Order, among other things, generally prohibits certain foreign-produced bulk-power system electric equipment, including associated critical software and digital capabilities that could pose cybersecurity or operational risks, from being purchased or installed in the United States, or appropriately conditions such purchases and installations to address those risks.

The Order focuses on transactions involving foreign nationals that pose an undue risk of sabotage, unauthorized access, or other disruption, an undue risk of catastrophic effects on the security or resiliency of U.S. critical infrastructure, or an unacceptable risk to the security of the U.S.

I know I have heard Trump call Xi a friend before and a good guy. After the China trip he was saying something about the United States accepting more Chinese students. Trump will find that friendship and going out of his way for China a one sided relationship if he continues to pursue it. That’s all I’m saying. Xi is friends with one person. That’s Xi and nobody else.

Finally being forced to deal with this very issue that others have been warning about for the last 5-10 yrs.
If the Marxist Dems get power, all this will be on the back burner.

Oh yeah these Canadians need to FAFO. I keep seeing clips on social media of random officials talking shite about Trump and how Congress needs to revolt against him.

It's definitely a huge deal and it seems like whatever happened today caught them with their pants down. I only wish it initiated a nationwide inspection of all major power generating facilities and emergency replacement of any possible foreign components that can be hacked, and further hardening of any physical equipment that is vulnerable to kinetic attack. That would probably be a huge undertaking though.

This is interesting because he's already signed multiple EOs regarding energy production and the power grid, including the declaration of a national emergency. I'd have to go digging to find it, but the foreign made components in our grid issue was included in one of them.

You invested 5 million in fish and don’t have a back up power source?

That’s on you, dumbass.
