I'm sorry you don't have a partner who shares your outlook. I'm sure it would be a better situation for you both if you did share some of those things.

Just let the machine make the choice for you.
When voted in the most recent presidential election I pushed the button for a certain candidate. When I pushed the button for one of the other items on the ballot I noticed a change for the presidential selection from the eventual winner to the candidate who finished second. The selection lights up I think with an orange "X".
I changed the selection back two times and it kept reverting to the other. There might have been six or more choices but it kept going to the eventual runner up.
I asked the person who helped me sign in and verified my ID (driver's license to come see what was going on. They had three people at the sign-in table with each serving specific duties.
I opened the voting machine curtain and showed/demonstrated to the person what was happening. They closed and removed that machine and moved me to the second machine that was there for my alphabet group. That machine worked or did not show any changes to my selection.
I do not remember the time of day, morning or evening, but a lot of people lost their votes.
The poll location at that time was in the lunchroom or Broadmoor Middle School in Baton Rouge. We now vote in the Sherwood Middle School gymnasium.
I was told when I went to vote in the fall of 2019 that it had been determined that the voting machine had a faulty processor.

Tell her she doesn’t tell you to vote for any more than you tell her.
