His parents left their culture and friends and moved across the world precisely because American culture gave their kids the best opportunities.
But the truth is many Americans either have not been raised to see that or appreciate it, or have fallen into social disorder and disarray such that they’re not contributing and it’s no longer possible for them to enjoy the upward mobility Vivek’s parents recognized and facilitated.
