I'm willing to concede that some members of congress are going to have better results from the market than the general public just because the general public is largely ignorant of policies and issues that sway markets but some of that shite is insane.

Wake me up when people in those positions are actually held accountable and face consequences. I’m sick and tired of this pony show where Musk and Doge announce their next target, much to our delight, only for it to go away with no consequence

"I will not use my grade or position to attain pleasure, profit, or personal safety."
A line from the Creed of the Non Commissioned Officer. I was a NCO for over 20 years and recited that line countless times.
Every one of those rat bastards needs to be outed and ostracized.

This needs to be included in the discussion:

quote:
A good bulk of the controversy comes from what some critics feel amounts to insider trading. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) went so far as to introduce legislation in 2023 that would ban lawmakers in Congress from making stock purchases or trades.
He called it the "Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments" – or PELOSI – Act.

Wrong. Their spouses are stealing it for them

The last I heard, as long as they all do full disclosure on certain congress critter forms. They are good.
Remember when the FBI took Richard Burr's cell phone about some trades he did? They wanted him to go and replace him with Rubio.
So it is all good, unless they need to use it to control.

Shitload of red on that graph. Time to get Elons auts fiercely number crunching how this could potentially affect mid terms
And then break out the chainsaw
And then break out the chainsaw

I can
They are stealing taxpayer money
Yup. Using those NGO's to move it thru various accounts/companies/organizations etc.
I wonder how much some if them have squirreled away in offshore accounts.

Where are Bondi and Patel on this? Lot of reporting over the years on violating the STOCK Act.
Here are some recent headlines.
Rep. Neal Dunn becomes latest lawmaker to violate STOCK Act
Congressional Stock Trading Continues to Raise Conflicts of Interest Concerns
78 members of Congress have violated a law designed to prevent insider trading and stop conflicts-of-interest
Busted: 62 members of Congress caught breaking the law

USAID money flowing into NGOs then back to Congressional members who use the funds to conduct foolproof insider trading.
It’s pretty fricking obvious.

They are. What would be the suspicion against Musk? That he bribes government officials to get sweet deals for SpaceX and Tesla? Then those officials would be suspiciously rich, correct? And he just said they are investigating that.

Elon didn't get rich while working as a public servant in a government job. He was already the world's richest man before he got involved with the government. And his worth has gone down some since then, not up (though Elon doesn't give a F because he is mega-rich and has lived modestly anyway most of the time).

Anyone who talks negatively about Elon can EAD. Trump, talk away, he deserves most of what he gets but not Elon.
The man willingly took the largest hit to a persons net worth in human history and if you forgot he also wrote the largest check ever for taxes at $8billion and paid the man.
Elon walks the walk
