We are trying to inflict pain on the nK regime in order to stop the development of nuclear weapons. That is understandable. But in the process, we are also punishing the most vulnerable citizens and shackling the ability of humanitarian agencies to render aid.

Hunger remains a way of life there. 41% of North Koreans, about 10.5 million people, are undernourished. 28% of children under 5 have stunted growth. The hunger is devastating. And we are partly to blame.

Take the recent nK defector - a state soldier in his 20s, yet his surgeons reported finding dozens of gastronintesrinal worms, a sign of severe malnutrition.

There is disagreement that sanctions are even effective. Since 2006, the UN Security Council has passed 8 sanctions. But it is estimated that 49 nations are in violation because the UNSC has no enforcement mechanisms.

Once again, the innocent are paying the price while talk weapons.

Just food for thought.

Way to end this on an insensitive note.

My thought is, do we want another war to remove someone?

Who gives a frick? Not me. Do you know them? Will you ever see them? No. So stop acting like you care about the plight of some noko village. Because the fact is, you don't. If they were to die this very moment, you wouldn't care. You would sleep easily tonight.

Wrong. The head midget in charge is fully and completely responsible.

Idk about you but I'd prefer death over living in noko. So maybe you should think of it as their final liberation from suffering.

At the end of the day though, neither of us give a frick about the plight of the random nork. Just one of us has the balls to admit it.

I've been doing no carbs for about 3 weeks and I just threw 3 biscuits in the garbage just to eat the meat and eggs from them.

I'll let you know if I see a Nork pop outta the garbage can.

When the North Koreans get tired of this they could overthrow that regime.

Yes. At the hands of the dictatorship they’ve been under.

Don’t forget that fact.

Say what you will about everything else, just don’t ignore the facts.

We're not, their government is. The only person making sure they aren't getting aid sent in is their leader.

Anytime they've had a natural disaster they refuse any aid we send.

So what's your plan or are you just here to bitch?

...then people shouldn't be starving. Oh wait, there's the whole Kim family rule thing going on. Starvation outside of Pyongyang is the norm and won't change until they are removed from power. If you aren't among the chosen few, you have a shitty life - end of story.

They starve their people when we send money specifically for food. They starve their people when we send actual food.

You realize that starving their people is simply part of their governance, right?

Yeah, N. Korean government has been starving their own people long before Trump became President.
