Another stab in the dark here... could she just simply have withheld "need to know" or "top secret" information as our critters are kinda untrustworthy these days?
On the one hand- our government/intelligence/military needs oversight.
On the other hand- some situations would understandably call for keeping your cards close to your vest.

Iran's gov't has been attacking Israel via Hamas for decades.
Iran's gov't has used Yemen as it's puppet to attack merchant vessels.
Iran has the ability to manufacture a nuclear weapon if:
A. They are working that way.
or B. They decided to work that .
