Either charge for the "controversial" aspect or dont charge at all. Now they pussied around for middle ground and have pissed off a lot of people. This is basically charging the cop to say they did.

I think justice was actually served.

Too bad the mob didn't want real justice.

Didn't they have a no-knock warrant?

Regardless, does it not seem like overkill at a place where the drug dealer simply may have received some illegal packages?

Even if they announced themselves before they used a battering ram to break in their door, what if they just didn't hear it? They were sleeping. Or were otherwise groggy? The boyfriend's gun was legally owned.

It just seems like a terrible strategy.

Cops decided to break her door down at midnight without announcing themselves.

This is not true, and the warrant itself was even changed from no-knock to knock and announce beforehand.

$15,000 cash bond for a charge with a max penalty of $10,000? That's so stupid. No matter how you slice it, the City will have to pay him back at least $5,000.

If it’s a bond, they’ll pay him back all of it if he shows up to court. However, a bond being higher than the max fine for the charged offense isn’t unreasonable in and of itself. For instance, murder one in TN has a max fine of $50k. You’re rarely going to see a bond even close to that low. And that can be said for all sorts of offenses. I’m guessing the standard bond for a felony there is $5k. He was charged with three counts so there’s where $15k comes from. He can also always file a Motion to reduce bond, which I’m sure he will.

People have a hard time differentiating legal wrong doing of LEO versus being disgruntled by the laws that make some questionable actions legal.

They knocked numerous times, Taylor had enough time to be awakened, get dressed, and get into the hallway.

This has all been corroborated by the boyfriend.

This AG is trying his best(and doing a good job) of laying it out.

However the mob won't care.

The boyfriend was the one guilty of criminal homicide by firing upon the officers resulting in Taylor being killed in the engagement.
