I just saw a blue checkmark on Twitter still insisting that the police were at the wrong address looking for someone who'd already been arrested.

The willful ignorance is inexcusable at this point.

I agree with the charge. Who would endanger these delicious treats from the orient?

AG: Use of force was justified

sure sounds pretty cut and dry. boyfriend and Taylor were standing side by side in a hallway when he first fired a shot.

Can you give me the skinny on this shooting? I vaguely remember the no knock warrant but didnt follow the story

Taylor was the money woman for a drug ring as stated by one of her coconspirators. Cops arrest one of the drug dealers and execute a no-knock search warrant on her residence for the money and possibly more drugs. Cops say they knocked and announced multiple times, Taylor's boyfriend said he didn't hear it. After a few knocks and announces, cops bust down the door and are immediately shot at by the boyfriend. One cop is hit. Three other cops return fire as they get to cover. One cops lays down covering fire (10 rounds) and Taylor is struck. She dies in the hallway (not in her bed as reported).

Say the cops names who did nothing wrong.

The one that did do something wrong wasn't being "racist" about it.

good lord, that night sounds like a complete shitshow

I haven't heard or read anything about it (as a federal officer myself) that didn't fit protocol for the most part, OTHER than the officer firing through the window without having eyes on the suspect. But even then he was returning fire thinking he was giving his partners cover, so I'm not sure if you could even claim it as 100% negligent - just dumb.

The shitshow is due to the BF's first resort being to open fire and not assess the situation in any way. That led to the officer returning fire to provide cover for his partners entering the apartment.

What he did would be the correct course of action in an active shooter situation or in the military trying to enter a building while taking fire, but not in this situation.

some blue check legal analyst

quote:

Adrienne Lawrence @AdrienneLaw
Wanton endangerment is a Class D felony in Kentucky.

Although it carries a minimum of 1 year in prison and a maximum of 5 years, those convicted of Class D felonies generally can avoid prison time by way of parole/pretrial diversion.

This is a slap on the wrist. #BreonnaTaylor

so it's possible a conviction still results in no prison time (which I can definitely see happening here)

This guy is all business and comes across as highly competent.

It's s stark contrast to some of the AGs we've seen in these other states.
