Correct. They've basically torpedoed any movies based on European history. I guess directors can try to shoehorn some gay characters into the plot. But of course, it would be kind of awkward considering a character's sexual orientation rarely has a significant relevance to the plot of the movie.

Didn't stop the director of Tombstone. Spent time pushing the 'Equal Work Equal Pay' thing also, though I'm betting that wasn't a big issue in the 1840s.

Probably part of the agenda, to divert big budget movies away from white historical story lines
You can make a fake movie about old Europe that won’t be good, you can pursue a movie that will be up for awards, or you can make a realistic European movie that won’t be up for awards.

What they will need to do is just have minorities play the part no matter the historical reality. It will be hilarious for historical stories or plays. Can you imagine if they did a show on the founding fathers of the US, and maybe for example had a black guy play Thomas Jefferson or Aaron Burr and maybe a Hispanic rapper play Alexander Hamilton?
