I’d treat that WSJ piece with some skepticism until we can learn more. There’s someone quoted in it that says the info was provided by a foreign partner and the claim needed further investigation and additional corroboration. Not even sure what the “previously undisclosed U.S. intelligence report” is, who prepared it, whether it’s just regurgitating claims made by others, etc.

Right. Without the cover, if it were shown to be intentionally released elsewhere, it would accomplish the exact opposite of what its intent was.
Also, if the virus was as effective as it was intended to be, it really doesn't matter where it was released. It was going everywhere.

The release from the lab could have been an accident, but spreading it to the rest of the world was absolutely on purpose. There is no other explanation for China allowing people from Wuhan to travel to the rest of the world but they were forbidden from going anywhere else in China. I don't know why there hasn't been more focus on that, it says it all right there about their intentions

I’m putting it at 50/50 because if it got out they intentionally did it, it’s war against them. That’s why they wouldn’t do it intentionally. China is already on pace to take over the world, so why frick that up?

It's very simple. The Left (media, democrats, etc.) believes the Right is their biggest enemy, and really their only enemy. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is so applicable. For example, the Dems were notoriously soft on the Soviet Union post-Vietnam, yet when they could link Russia with Trump, they turned on Russia.

Right now the odds are that it was an accidental leak. If it had been intentional as a bioweapon, they would have had a vaccine. They now have a vaccine, but it is only about 50% effective.
