Because the re-emergence of the lab leak theory is based on US intelligence community reports, which makes me immediately skeptical.

I don't think that was the case. And even if it is the case, this would never be let out because people would want a war with China.
I think the most likely reason is accidental release from lab. The same lab faucci had provided funding.

I believe it escaped from the Wuhan lab, but I don't believe it was an intentional release.
If it was intentional, it would have been released outside of china... in Los Angeles or New York most likely.

e.g. contaminate a jumbo jet full of passengers in route to the US or EU. Or better yet, have several immune individuals travel to London, NYC, ATL, or LA with contaminated materials.
Instead, it looks like there was a fairly obvious WIV Lab accident and shutdown in October 2019. Subsequently, several early (Nov-Dec) cases were easily traceable to Wuhan. Wuhan is nowhere near normal range for covid animal vectors. None of that makes any sense if the thing was preplanned biowarfare from Day 1.
OTOH, exporting the thing internationally from Wuhan was 100% deliberate, inexcusable, and should entail massive international liability.
