The demographics are obviously different between those 2 videos.

[There's a joke somewhere in there about your use of 'zoo' but I'm on probation.]

I think it does.

Politics leads to tolerating certain behavior and that teaches people that they can get away with it.

Even if your community didn't tolerate it, you're still talking about dealing with people who have been conditioned to expect it to be tolerated. Or even demand that be tolerated.

The black community has it's own cultural problems, sure, but as others have pointed out, it's not just the black kids who engage in unacceptable behavior. They take it further into more serious criminal territory (thus the culture problems), but kids these days don't experience much in the way of consequences for actions. And that is releated to politics.

I went to Daytona Beach for Spring Break in 1988 when Mtv was there.
Just got to large. So Mtv had to move a few times. College kids tear things up and have little money. Many have daddy's credit card. Reason why they sleep like 10 people to a motel room. Plus underage drinking.

Funny thing the bikers are more civil and well behaved during Bike Week at Daytona Beach. Plus they have and spend more money.

Not really a liberal policy more like a keep the peace policy.

Based on the history of spring break locations and their response, it's not a political issue

Many (most?) former spring break locations are basically banning it. The white spring break, too.

The problem is the same reason why none of these beach cities look anything like the 70s and 80s in totality: there has been an explosion in people going to these beaches that didn't exist in the past. That's why where you used to have more subtle skylines you now see condos packed in every square inch they can fit.

Poorer populations have more access today to formerly luxury foods and services. Planes, beaches, cruises, vacation spots, etc.

Noise aside I agree, but bikers and their damn "pipes" are a pox.

Because in 1986 they were all actually people in COLLEGE. Now it's a bunch of random 25-35 year old criminals who never were in college and have rap sheets a mile long.

It's not just "urban" college students. Spring Break was always a rowdy time no matter the melanin levels. It was always a contest between the police an the kids with the police picking and choosing their battles.

Today the police have gotten a lot more aggressive in enforcing local ordinances and state law. My nephew got dinged last year by the police for underage drinking on the beach (MiP) . Back 30 -35 years ago the cops did not really care if you were drinking or drunk on the beach.. Now they enforce the alcohol laws like frickin nazis actually using a tool to determine if you have alcohol in your cup.

Also the explosion of AirBNB has changed the equation with kids renting in areas where people actually live.

I don't know about all Spring Break areas but those laws were put into place only about 10 years ago in PC Beach, and they were put into place precisely because things had gotten so bad. Around here it was not a case of "oh, it's always been this way". It was getting worse and worse every year.

You won't do black spring break because you know your chance of being murdered is higher.

That's an issue in that community and why large crowds of blacks ruin everything.

When I lived around Daytona Beach 25 years ago I had a pawn shop owner tell me it was a busy time of year for them kid pawing stuff for beer money.

He told me high school and college girls would buy a gold chain on daddy's credit card at a jewelry store then pawn it for beer money. If daddy asked to see the gold chain they'd lie and tell them it fell off in the ocean while swimming. Girls are good about lying to cover their tracks.

I think he's confusing "political" with "partisan". This is not a partisan issue but it's clearly related to policy and politics. Watch any body-cam videos on YouTube and see how people respond to police; that didn't happen 30 years ago. We're headed towards the UK in this particular area, and that ain't good.

Trying to equate general spring break with things like freaknik is retarded.
