Last night Trump unveiled his campaign strategy, I think it could work.

I think the strategy may be, avoid the traditional media (broadcast and cable news) and focus on streaming content/podcasts etc. Trump has countless surrogates on YouTube and other social media platforms who regularly do reactions to Trump vids that generally prove Trump was right about much of what he claims.

Trump will do himself a huge favor by minimizing his interactions with members of the Anti Trump Consortium, instead, allow his thousands if not millions of surrogates to spread the America First/MAGA message while Trump fortifies the message with social media and his legendary rallies. No debates, no problem....there's no upside for Trump.

This ^^^^ strategy is a bit like Biden's 2020 GE strategy. Biden minimized his exposure to criticism by hiding away and he allowed the Gaslighting Media to carry the pro Biden load. Trump can employ a similar strategy using social media platforms.....I think it may work, particularly if the US economy is floundering this time next year or God forbid the US is actively engaged (US boots on the ground) in another military conflict....like Ukraine.

Trump's 2016 campaign was brilliant. I think campaigning is his strong suit. The creativity and unique things he does - maybe now that he's not POTUS full time he has more energy and time to pour into maximizing his campaign efforts. He also has the "Redemption Story Arc" in his favour, as Scott Adams would point out. Humans have a deeply engrained craving for redemption. Trump might do better with moderates this go round, especially if he behaves reasonably well closer to the election.

Not the same as a debate, at all.

As i stated last night, I do not recognize kings in this country. Maybe you do. But all candidates must debate to be qualified as POTUS.

Sounds like a good strategy if your goal is running a campaign on the cheap

It depends on what you mean by "work"

If by work you mean hide long enough to win the nomination (which I think he will do regardless), sure.

Hide to WIN the election, no.

There are far more Democrats than Republicans, and more left leaning Indys than Right leaning Indy's.

Any R needs a lot of things to go there way.

Hiding and preaching to the choir will not do it. He needs to be 2016 again and also have some things go his way.

Trump won in 2020.

The message America first has always been the winning message.

There was something decidedly novel and exciting about it. By 2020 it was a bit tired and often looked like he was going through the motions - yeah, the whole covid fiasco certainly played a part.

Maybe there's something to be said for taking a different approach at this point. I think others have touched on the idea (even on the stage last night) that what we are facing and where we are headed as a nation is sort of dark and solemn.

Are people ready for Serious Reflective Trump?

Trump was able to play as the outside going against the establishment. He ran a strong campaign and used populist rhetoric to win. Also Hillary was the worst possible pick the Dems could have chosen.

2020, Trump was no longer an outsider. His policies were mostly basic republican policies and he surrounded himself with establishment pricks and did nothing to “drain the swamp”. He completely botched Covid then ran a terrible campaign. Biden just happened to exist in the Dems spot and snagged the win

It's funny isn't it... I don't disagree with your initial post until I remember the MSM went into major contraction after he left office. He was the best thing ever to CNN and MSNBC for all of the misinformation they promoted during his first term.

I hope he does break them but who knows ... it may reconstitute these organizations.

Most definitely. But does Trump have the self discipline to execute and stick to it?

There was no debate last night. It was a shite show from the moderators getting involved to them allowing the stacking of the audience.

It was not a debate.

We don;t have a monarchy in the USA. And the constitution says nothing about "Must Debate"
