Honestly, if he can just put a lid on nola and E. BR I consider that a win.

There are several versions of the Ten Commandments.
Which version of the Ten Commandments is Landry putting in schools?

Um....hypocrisy?
You can't display the Ten Commandments on your Federal building and then tell public schools that they can't do the same.
You can if the purpose of their placement is religious versus historical/educational.

You stay classy Louisiana! You also will continue to stay in the 50th position for livable states with morons like this guy.
Our public schools are terrible, infrastructure sucks, not bringing any white collar jobs into the state, let’s list all the terrible things, but hey, at least we have the 10 Commandments in the classroom. clown show!

I also want to point out I went to Catholic school from k-12, St Aloysius and Catholic high
I can’t once recall the 10 commandments being in the classroom

but I understand the legalities of it, and I'm quite certain he does as well.
Based on his response to the LSUWBB anthem issue I am not sure he does. This opens the door for the Satanic Church and any other religion to post things in a classroom.

Considering no one asked for this
I think you may be off here. There’s tons of Christian nuts in all parts of Louisiana.

Good some of those little public school heathens could use some morality. Our school here in the Bible Belt of MS still has school prayer groups, leads all events in a prayer and add in God we trust after the morning pledge.

The Ten Commandments are displayed at the Supreme Court
Representations of them are displayed. For example, images of two tablets with Roman numerals on them.
The actual text of the 10 commandments is not on display.

Considering that all the supporters are saying we need God in schools, will be hard to argue it’s not religious.

Is this a public or private school?

I don’t think you can put the Ten Commandments up in a non-religious context in this society.
Christianity isn’t something like Greek mythology that nobody follows today. That’s why people object to Bible classes in public schools but don’t object to Greek mythology classes.

Putting the Ten Commandments in school isn’t going to make kids behave or perform better in the classroom. This is the lowest iq thing one can do or think will ‘help’

Can the citizens sue their government? This feels like fraud.

A lot of people would shite a fricking brick if the governor of Minnesota or something passed a law requiring the Quran be posted in school classrooms. Does anyone care about the Constitution anymore?
Posted on 6/19/24 at 10:07 am to lsupride87
What a disingenuous little frick he is.

The Ten Commandments provide the foundation for modern-day law in America,” said Gene Mills, president of the Louisiana Family Forum, a conservative advocacy group
I'm a firm believer in trying to live my life within the boundaries of the 10 commandments. Thank God for His forgiveness, is all I'm going to say.
BUT, BUT, BUT...
Someone on the OT has to have a close relationship with this Landry administration...P L E A S E get this governor on track to make priority #1
vehicle & homeowner insurance rates
ETA: Everyone in the Sate of Louisiana gets fricked by insurance companies daily. Our fricking one-term governor consistently grandstands' with mandates on:
- Requiring all university sporting teams to be out of the locker room and in attendance for the National Anthem.
- Requiring the acceptance of cash at all university sporting events for concession stand purchases.
- The 10 Commandments thing
Is Landry really that out of touch with the real day-to-day issues? He can't be that stupid, can he?? I realize the type of insurance reform needed also will require significant changes to our State laws for allowing excessive & frivolous lawsuits. It's not the attorneys. They have a fiduciary obligation to the client to operate within the law. As a former AG, this should be a no brainer.
But, don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. Lawsuits are only 50% of the insurance problem. The other 50% is greed, by the insurance companies.
Governor, you are making this job harder than it needs to be. Please stay in your lane and get to fricking work to fix the real problem: insurance rates
