The map, as amended, just passed the Senate 27-10.

That map is unconstitutional.

Looks like you can go down to south Baton Rouge, stand in district 6, jump over a canal belonging to district 2, then land back in district 6.
Ridiculous. They're about to vote and agree on the same principle they were originally fighting against.

Yep, still clear racial gerrymandering.
Like I said in another thread, Republicans continue to make concessions. If the shoe was on the other foot, the Democrats would steamroll us with a 6-0 blue map and never bat an eye.

Here's the map that the Senate passed.

Well if the legislature won’t do it, someone’s gonna sue and make it happen.

Elected Republicans cave every damn time. Democrats never do. Huge reason our country is so screwed up and struggling to recover.

116 is dead?
It's not dead, but it hasn't gotten to committee yet. It'll probably stay that way unless the 5-1 map has issues on the floor. That's what Henry told me this morning

No matter the map, people are going to sue if it's 6-0, 5-1 or 4-2. Thye won't win either way

Didn't they have a 6-0 map that wasn't gerrymandered?
Why would Republicans put this gerrymandered map forward that gives Republicans a gerrymandered district?
Should we start requiring Republicans to take T?

Their bullshite excuse was they didn’t want to water down their own districts with Black people.
