Fact - the beginning premise of any new map is to preserve the re- election of Mike Johnson and Steve Scalise, the Speaker of the House and the House Majority Leader.

This ain’t a civics book about fairness and commonality and all that crap.

This is real life.

After those two needs have been addressed you then move to make sure that there’s a district that Letlow can win in if she loses the Senate race.

Why?

Because Letlow sits on the Appropriations Committee, which is a huge deal for the state.

After those three criteria are met, the rest is just internal politics between legislators, etc.

Well I guess we both think the other is an idiot then.

It must suck to be you and scared of the will of the people.

Literally carved out North Baton Rouge and Donaldsonville

Like I said, that map is going straight to the courts. The Republicans are retarded.

Correct. It just isn’t hard to simply draw a normal map with zero snaking or gerrymandering. It can easily be done almost entirely on Parish lines, with just a handful having to be split.

Chat got in less than a minute can draw a 6 district congressional map prioritizing population, contiguous and respecting parish boundaries.

A human can also do it in under ten minutes. Dave's Redistricting App--I've made like twenty in the past two weeks.

District 2 is a flat out joke.
And could someone please tell me why the whole top of the state cannot be one instead of lumping Bogalusa residents in with Lincoln parish?

You realize the session doesn't end until June 1st. They could literally bring two bills to Landrys desk and he can choose not to sign the one or neither.

Do any white people live in the proposed District 2? How low of an IQ does the Legislature have?

The assignment was DO NOT draw lines based on race. Not to draw fewer districts based on race.

No way I'm voting for anyone who is on board with this.

If you’d read my post at the top,of page 5, it explains why NLA can’t be one big district.

28% White 61% Black in District 2. Had to look at the original bill because they removed the breakdown by race table from the bill text in the amended version.

Cameron Henry said they're not going to pass the 6-0 map so they're going to vote on the 5-1 today.
