You have no clue what you're talking about. It's been stated already tonight that the two other bills including 116 will be discussed at another time during session. The Price bill has been in committee for over 3 hours now, you think they have time to bring up 4 bills in one day?

I’m not sure why you’re wanting to bicker about this, but we can cycle back to this as the session comes to a close

Price (4-2) bill didn't make it out of committee
Morris (5-1) bill passed though

The other two Morris bills (6-0) will come up for discussion eventually

Should be 6-4 if democracy is still a thing we strive for.

Sounds promising. So we are at least back to where we started before Graves lost his district.

love how they think they can’t be represented by a white. shite, I’ve had Cleo as my rep forever. You think he and I agree on much? Am I disenfranchised?

Here is a bold idea, not sure if it would hold any constitutional mustard.

Drop the district shenanigans and go at large congressional districts. That way everyone in the state has a say on who represents the state in the House.

Not sure the best way to ballot it as six separate races or one race and pick 6 candidates like some areas have for aldermen races.

SB116 is the only map worth a shite. The one they passed is horrible.

No. We already have a Senate, which itself became just an at large House of Representatives with the 17th Amendment.

The last time the Democrats were this angry was when the slaves were freed! True statement, history don't lie!

There is definitely some merit in that, but the current gerrymandering is just not a positive for a Republic form of government.

If a state has 60% Republican votes and 40% Democrats vote and 10 seats then the representation should be 6-4. I’m not sure how that should be controversial. We could probably never have a true breakdown of race and ethnicity or whatever measure someone can dream up but letting politicians choose voters instead of the other way just doesn’t seem right.

I agree it’s abhorrent. I’m personally a fan of mixed-proportional representation with constituency votes and a party list vote.

But demographics outside of raw numbers should never be a factor regardless of system.

Maybe in a Democracy, but we’re not a democracy. We’re a Republic.

Are we truly a republic with gerrymandering like we have it?

A democracy would not have 10 representatives like my example.

First off, hats off to Sen. Kleinpeter and others who stayed through the night listening to a whole lotta of nonsense. I stayed up until 1am before tapping out.

I think it’s in the best interest of the citizens of this state if the legislature can come up with a map that satisfies both sides, otherwise this will be dragged out in courts forever. I think of the maps presented, SB 407 by Sen. Price does this.

One thing that I wanted to point out is that Blake Miguez is a baby back retarded bitch.

In questioning Sen. Price on his map, Miguez questioned District 4’s “seahorse” shape and asked if this map would pass the eye test because he didn’t believe so, ultimately voting against it.

When SB 121 came up, there was no question about the eye test. The only thing Miguez could say (multiple times) is that this map would have been approved in 2022 by the Supreme Court. Now let me ask you, does THIS pass the eye test?

This map is garbage.
