This is a stupid argument. You're an idiot.

There is definitely some merit in that, but the current gerrymandering is just not a positive for a Republic form of government.

Because it's not about "right and wrong"; it's about sticking it to the Dems.

And the Senators and Representatives are insulting us by pretending it's anything else.

Exactly. Because what the frick is this?

SB 407 wasn’t even 2 minority majority districts. They could go either way, which is how it should be.

Knowing Louisiana politics they’ll probably end up doing a 3-3 map

As someone who would be called prog filth on this board; the map above makes a lot more sense, even if it's "6-0". I think not having districts who's lines look like they were drawn by a 3 year old, should be a sticking point.

I also think that "safe" seats based on gerrymandered maps is what keeps the established swamp politicians in power.

Having the house be representative of the voters is stupid? Can you please expand on this?

I live my views to be challenged and I am very open to opposing views.

So, what do you propose? Who votes on these matters? What's the point of even having representatives if what they do is stupid?

That's not how drawing congressional maps work and that's not how they should be drawn. That's why I called you an idiot.

Again, who should do it then?

The real fact is even your conservative, "pro freedom America" Republicans love the gerrymandered maps, because it also helps ensure their own staying power if they're already in office.

Yellow and green looks dumb. And it’s snakey, again.

Splitting Terrebonne Parish doesn't seem so bad, but splitting Calcasieu where it looks like Iowa would be with Lafayette and Breaux Bridge, but Lake Charles and Vinton is with Mansfield and Shreveport....seems odd.

I saw a more vertical type map posted by League of Voters or some group like that the other day. I know conservatives/Republicans wouldn't like it, but it honestly geographically made more sense to me as long as the population numbers lined up.

We should be doing these maps more in geographical blocks, but the problem is we would need ALL states to get on board with that. Red and Blue states. If only Red states get on board with that, then conservatives screw themselves (and the country's taxpayers...I guess).

This map will end up in courts.

It’s the same map the Supreme Court just ruled unconstitutional, except the snake is a little smaller.

It's a lot like the 2022 map.

Edit: and it protects all of the incumbents except for Cleo. I wonder if Garret Graves is thinking about jumping back in.

100% The 6-0 map makes sense, but it makes the old cronies nervous. Those districts aren’t as much purple as much as they threaten a few people that want to remain in office.

After Callais there is absolutely no reason to keep the old second district. Race was the only reason for this district and now that criteria is off the table. Just do what the Court says and save yourself further litigation.

Supreme Court: Don't draw maps based on race.

LA Senate: Here is a map with only one district based on race.

I expect the Democrats to die trying to keep their gravy train going, but are the Republicans that fricking stupid!?
