When that documentary was released it was heavily criticized by Southern historians.

Oh, I know. That's sort of part of my point. Hence "relatively level-handed."

Just think about what it would look like if made today.

The Dems are playing the same "how to take and defeat a country without firing a shot" that China is doing. We are fighting a civil war on multiple fronts. Both China and the Dems are ruthless. I respect how far they have got with our worthless republican law makers that sit back and do nothing. Heck they are probably in on it too $$$.

This man gets it.

To add to that...

What we are experiencing is a Bully War. It's push and take and push and take and divide and take and push and take....

...and it will keep going that way until the bully gets his nose bloodied.

Sorry - I'm not a wishcaster or radical - I just study history and human nature.

He is a legit moronic.

There is more equality than ever before.

The creature comforts we have today, even the poorest among us, would make anyone from the depression era jealous.

The lifespan today is longer than any of those times.

Jesus, even a virus that kills less than one percent of the people is nothing compared to prevaccine or antibiotics era. Before we had these things, the death we have now from covid was a nice year.

No one had any idea how good they have it.

It's telling how weak our society is that our "Civil War" Fourth Turning moment is people getting their income supplemented while they get to Netflix and chill while trading options on Robinhood.

I am a Ken Burns doc fan. Entertaining but always left leaning — even one on Baseball.

His documentary on the Vietnam War was the worst of his career. Woke and reflected his anti-war, active protestor youth.

As a Vietnam vet I was appalled and offended.

I don’t think it was that bad. It actually was good in showing the bind LBJ was in and why things went on all over during Cold War in Cuba. Guatemala. Korea. Iran. China in the 50s. Then France and usa in Vietnam in the 50s and 60s. 70s. Won every battle. Lost war thanks to politicians. No way in hell that border on HO CHI MINH trail could be defended like the South Korean border. LBJ shoulda Gotten the hell out after south Vietnamese would not listen to advisors. But I digress.

He pushed the political correctness in it as far as he thought he could get by with back then.

Republicans are too fricking stupid to realize that the left has been engaged in a civil war against us for 15 years now. Republicans are too nice, comfortable and polite. Trump took the gloves off, but the rest of us let them steal the election.

A hot civil war is probably coming at some point. It will be rural vs urban.

I think the tally was 650,000 in a nation of 31 million. A bit of hyperbole from Burns.

It’s just not going to feel the same when the two great generals meet at buc-ees to discuss the terms of surrender.
