Comical is the money your side keeps sending over there.

Talking Sh t after Afghanistan is cool.

You left out that Ukraine used UK cruise missiles to do this. So no UK missiles, no way Ukraine hits a port 150 miles away. The only thing I find amazing is that Russia hasn’t attacked the UK or US at this point given that we are arming Ukraine with our weapons. Ukraine would have fallen last year without us giving them advanced arms and money. Even the US bombing the Nordstream pipeline was an act of war against Russia. It’s pretty clear Russia knows we are running out of armament to give Ukraine and is waiting us out but I wouldn’t be surprised if the KGB doesn’t quietly take out some UK and US diplomats when this is over.

....and their one carrier is always in port for "maintenance" and leaves a trail of smoke for miles.

And in reality, that means what? Nice comeback but entirely irrelevant

But their balancing trait seemed to be that we perceived them to be borderline crazy. The west sort of knew what was logical, but like dealing with a woman, the USSR/Russia has always been on the side of, "who would think that was a good idea?" The USSR did.

Give it time and they'll get there. It went up by 7% from January thru July. At that rate they'll be at 34 trillion in the next 42 months.

The population of Russia proper was only 1/3 of the total population of the USSR. The Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, Estonians, Ukrainians, Romanians, East Germans, Georgians, Armenians, Azerbaijanis, Turkmen, Tajiks, Kazakhs, Kyrgyzs, and Uzbeks had no urge to remain part of Russia.

Anybody want to tell him what the exchange rate from rubles to dollars is?

34 trillion rubles is about 350 billion dollars. We’ll have sent Ukraine that much by the time the war is over.

I had already looked it up. 96 rubles to one dollar.

But the Russians don’t use the dollar. They use rubles. So it’s still trillions of their currency.

Fun fact: Russia has the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world.

It was also an act of war against Germany but let's face it...Germany is a pathetic vassal state.

It's comical you are under the impression Russia is losing.

But it's also alarming that you don't understand the proximity this whole unnecessary conflict is bringing us to WWIII.

Ummm….
You need to read some history my friend.

The Cold War pitted the USSR and allies against the US and our allies.

“Russia” didn’t emerge until after the dissolution of the USSR in 1991.

USSR population in 1991 was 293.05 million.

US population in 1991 was 252.98 million.

Now look up military aircraft, soldiers, tanks, ships, and missiles. Especially nuclear warheads!

They had more of everything except ships. And their navy was catching up until Reagan put the pedal to the metal.

And oh yes, the technology gulf was not so wide back then.

You truly have no clue my friend!

If we were only 350 billion dollars in debt, we could cut taxes by 85%.

Wow!
That sure would be in the best Russian interest. Let’s go to war with two nuclear powers while bogged down in Ukraine.
Sarcasm [off]

quote:

Ukraine would have fallen last year without us giving them advanced arms and money.

And the USSR (Russia) would have fallen in WW 2 without American and British arms, equipment, money, and food.

And North Korea wouldn’t exist if not for Soviet help and Chinese troops.

Israel would have fallen to the Arabs without western weapons.

And Vietnam would not be communist today with out Soviet and Chinese help.

And Afghanistan would still be under Soviet control without America arming the Muj.

This occurs all the time, and is no reason for war to break out.

quote:

Even the US bombing the Nordstream pipeline was an act of war against Russia.

You say this like there’s real proof we did it. Could we have? Yes. Probably? Possibly. But proof? No. Minimally, if there was proof Russia and possibly EU corporations would be suing us.

quote:

It’s pretty clear Russia knows we are running out of armament to give Ukraine and is waiting us out

It’s also pretty clear Russia is running out of armaments to fight the Ukrainians. Also clear is low Russian morale, a collapsing economy, and low civilian commitment to the drafting of Russian boys!

It is not clear who will “win” this war, or how it will end.

I would bet on Russia. But I would not bet the house!

quote:

I wouldn’t be surprised if the KGB doesn’t quietly take out some UK and US diplomats when this is over.

I would be. This didn’t even happen in the Cold War because assassinations are a two bladed knife that cuts both ways. The Russian oligarchs wouldn’t like waking up dead.

With the constant propaganda barrage every day of Russia suffering defeats, losing ships, you’d swear that Ukraine is marching on Moscow as we speak. Hell, Zelenskyy, I heard, was taking measurements in the Putin residence so he could have curtains fitted for when he kicks Putin out.
