Lets say they conclude it is not constitutional, who is going to go door to door trying to take AR-15's?

The text of the first amendment is equally restrictive, and yet there are exceptions to everything listed in the first. Why would the second be any different?
just because exceptions exist doesn't mean EVERY exception is equally applicable.

For example, 1A has an exception for incitement or "screaming fire".

That doesn't mean an exception for 2A "scary black rifle bad!" should exist just like "hate speech" doesn't get excepted.

It is a false equivalency you are making.

I would love to see Colion Noir or some other extremely knowledgeable person on firearms argue this before SCOTUS. I would greatly enjoy their complete disassembling of the eventual "scary gun iz scary" statements posed as questions from Justice Wise Latina and Justice Diversity Hire.

When the 2A was written, we only had muskets. If the drafters knew what would come, I doubt it would be written as it is. We were also coming off the Revolutionary War, so it made sense.

But if we're making exceptions, why does voter IDs need to be required to vote? Where does it mention that in the Constitution?

You can't have it both ways. There are always going to be exceptions.

If they thought kicking doors in Baghdad and Fallujah was bad, do it in America.

You made up those false equivalencies. I said that there are reasonable restrictions on the first amendment rights, and the amendment has equally restrictive language to the second.

it isn't in Federal elections.

it doesn't. It gives the power to the states to regulate their own elections.

doesn't mean every exception ever dreamed of applies.

ok, I doubt they envisioned Democrats would choose not to enforce federal law and allow +20 million illegal aliens in but Trump still can't use the Aliens Enemies Act because of the way it is written.

You can't have it both ways indeed.

I guess it’s time to go out and get another one while I still can. I’ve had my eye on a Colt for a while now.

The Constitution is clear: "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

I couldn't care less what a bunch of corrupt, controlled judges say. I'll follow the Constitution.

The government and foreign invaders also only had muskets.

So what do you think is appropriate for American citizens to be armed with?

Just like we only had printed paper. I guess the 1A doesn't apply to broadcasting, and the internet, amiright?

Gee Wally, wouldn't it be great if they had provided some way to change the Constitution in the future? If only...

Government authoritarianism hasn't disappeared.

arse backwards. Where in the constitution does it say the government specifically cannot requrie voter IDs?
