Well, before hand the embassy staff needs to set up a committee and see what steps to do next. Obviously, this is the first they heard there was trouble in the country.
I for one, think it should meet every Monday 8am sharp for at least 2 hours. Give it a deadline of having some kind of plan for immediate withdrawal done before October. Then get the sec of state's and the president's approval.

They better leave or their heads will be on poles or thrown off of buildings. I’m pretty sure that’s gonna happen to some people. Mostly Afghans but we tried.

By friends son earned his Ranger tab a few months back and they deployed a couple of weeks ago. He sent a short video to his dad today. They are all at the Kandahar airport protecting the evac.. I was with him and his son the couple of days before his son left for his 1st deployment. He was flying to the west Coast the next day to report for curtly. I hope he makes it through.
