At this point, you'd have to be a fool to not think this bigger than Flynn.

My unanswered question centers around the point, the reason, the purpose, of the judges legal maneuvers. I'm not sure why that confuses or triggers you.

You are a bit sensitive. I wasn't triggered/upset by your question.

I was making a broader point that this move is so out of line that logically, this is about a hell of a lot more than the merits of the Flynn case.

What a shite show our justice system has become. Burn it all down!

I hope this is the endgame here.

If such a high profile case can demonstrate how screwed up parts of the judicial system are and can lead to fixing it, this hassle might be worth it.

This is bizarre, but I suppose technically his court & section is a party in this very unusual circumstance and has a right to legal representation. BUT....

No...a thousand times no...judge is not a party. judge is judge. Order is for judge to respond, not lawyer. I predict this will not go as planned. Is there any case law to support his actions?

By the way, I would never hire a trial lawyer to handle appellate work. Completely different

The judge is black so he knows any criticism he receives will be shouted down as "racist" by the media so he figures he can do whatever he wants to, lifetime appointment with a press shield.

President Abrams in one of her first acts after biden quits will nominate him to an appellate court.

The headline of that article is very telling.

Sullivan is the presiding judge. He has no business having “interests” in the Flynn case. His one job is to preside over the case justly and fairly. Anything else is bordering on the unethical.

Bordering? I think we went well past that, especially considering some of the screeds he has done against Flynn.

I think they should lock Judge Sullivan alone in a room and give him 3 hours to argue with himself.

It not, it would be an ethics violation from hell.
