Didn't they order him to answer it personally?

Sullivan is a coward

If the the DC Circuit wanted a lawyer to represent Sullivan, they would've ordered amicus for Sullivan.

They didn't.

They ordered him and him specifically to explain his rationale for refusing to grant the government motion to dismiss.

Sullivan is treating the request by the DC Court as an indictment and therefore his defense team will be handling the answers from now on.

This is going to get ugly.... unless POTUS Trump gives the other side a "get out of jail free" card by pardoning Gen. Flynn. I pray this doesn't happen.

This is bizarre, but I suppose technically his court & section is a party in this very unusual circumstance and has a right to legal representation. BUT....

This makes him look like a mental midget to have to hire another lawyer to justify his legal reasoning. His picture will appear beside the definition of "rogue judge" from this point forward, much to the chagrin of Amy Berman Jackson.

This is an admission of corruption.

It's clear he's working with others. It's time to find out who (as if we didn't know)

Either his memory will fail him or his health will.

Not so fast.

The DC circuit still has to rule whether or not Sullivan can hire a lawyer to represent him when they ordered him and him personally to explain his rationale.

If we allow judges to hire lawyers to represent themselves to judges that outrank them to argue over litigation where both parties have come to an agreement to dismiss the case, we will be opening up a can of worms.

The DC circuit should rule against Sullivan hiring the lawyer.

I'd bet they're threatening Sullivan's son. Techno Fog's Twitter thread seems to indicate that his son has had serious issues with the law over the years.

Sullivan hired atty Beth Wilkenson -

quote:

She has frequently taken on high-profile assignments. In 2018, she was hired by Brett Kavanaugh, then a U.S. Supreme Court nominee, to help shepherd him through confirmation proceedings at which he had been accused of a decades-old sexual misconduct allegation. Kavanaugh, who denied the claim, was confirmed to the high court.

More recently, Wilkinson was retained by Summer Zervos in a suit in New York state court that accuses Trump of lying in his denials that he did not grope and kiss her without consent in 2007. The case is pending.

In the D.C. Circuit now, Wilkinson is counsel to Cheryl Mills, a former aide to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in a dispute over a deposition in a public-records case. One of Sullivan’s colleagues on the bench, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth, said the plaintiff—the conservative advocacy group Judicial Watch—could depose Clinton and Mills.

.Sullivan’s move to appoint Gleeson, now a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton, to oppose the Justice Department’s move to dismiss was seen by some observers as an assertion of independence of the courts as a co-equal branch of government. Still others said Sullivan had assumed too powerful a role, and that he should have dismissed the case at the Justice Department’s request.
