The Congo River is practically impossible to utilize for commercial navigation.
How come? Just curious.

I was curious too so I looked it up. A couple reasons.
1. It's too high volume. There are areas along the river where it's just too much flow for large vessels to navigate it.
2. Large waterfalls towards the tail end of the river. Any commercial transport to the coast, if they could figure out the turbulent sections of the river would have to stop and offload their cargo onto trucks.
They need to be able to build railways and highways, but that requires heavy investment and their country is far too politically unstable. It's just a frickin mess.

Then, why isn't it? Why isn't it even remotely close to being what she says it can be?

If you research the geography and topography of Sub Saharan Africa, this is a recurring theme and a major reason why the populations in SSA never developed like they did elsewhere. There are other reasons, like the vastness of the continent, lack of good ports, lack of good soil, etc.

She has money . She should go over there and invest her money and get that country going.
She could wind up being Queen Joy the 1st.

I won't argue the overall point, but this video is very suspect.

The problem is that there is very little “rule of law” and a whole lot of “rule of my tribe over yours” . Why try to build something when it can be destroyed in a day with no consequences or repercussions for the people that did such an injustice.

It may be true that the Congo has valuable minerals in their dirt, just like Louisiana did. But just like Louisiana, the only ones that got rich are the politicians while the people are still poor as shite.

He mentioned that in the 1930s China didn’t have the technology that was made available to Congo.
Think about the difference between China and Congo now.
If the US Corporatocracy doesn't sell the American people out to the CCP it's quite likely China would still be largely a 3rd world country with nuclear weapons.

If you should happen to read the books by Wilbur Smith, 50 plus of them from ancient Egypt to modern day Zimbabwe , you would understand that tribalism is a far greater hindrance than geography.

Only 6 million people in a country the size of the US east of the Mississippi. A third speak at least a fundamental French. There are also 50 indigenous languages, which illustrates the tribalism.
Only 6 million people, which illustrates that African immigrants go north for the easy life, when the real opportunity is in Africa.

A large reason why that remained so scattered everywhere is lack of empires normalizing culture over large areas/populations (which eliminates trbalism)
Why were there no empires consistently in that manner? Bad soil and water not suitable for civilization. Populations can't grow enough with those constraints. If populations can't grow, you can't have empires.
What do you get when populations can't grow, conquer, be conquered en masse? Tribal, nomadic populations. Herders or hunter-gatherers.
