Why do you trust the cops so much? I'm REALLY surprised at you.

The HuffPo reporter was on MSNBC being interviewed and he actually admitted that he (a) gave the cops "some attitude" before he was detained (laughing as he said it) and (2) did not identify himself as a member of the press nor was he wearing a press ID.

The WaPo reporter did have his press ID around his neck.

Police also used tear gas on the crowd. This is not being handled well at all.

If I were Ferguson I would call the one police department that generally blows all around but the exception is they actually are really really good with crowd control - the NOPD.

They were paying customers at a private business. The cops had absolutely no right to walk in and demand they leave without the business's request for them to do so.

Unbelievable that people are taking the cop's side in this.

All the right wing idiots whining about supposed tyranny in DC, yet are now silent over actual tyranny happening in Ferguson. Wonder why. Actually, no I don't wonder why.

If it was a legitimate arrest, why did they let the reporters go as soon as the arrests became public knowledge? Sounds like po-po has something to hide on this one.

I know where I saw the Chief of Police was alerted and he knew nothing about it. He made the call to tactical to release them...

Did any info come out as to why they were detained???

The two detained work for the Washpo and Huffpo.... So I guess those are no longer news outlets?

News? Maybe.

Propaganda? No question.

Forget them. What about bloggers in general?

there are always 2 sides to every story!!!!!

I am interesting in hearing more about the "Mike Brown tried to take the officers gun inside the police car" side of things.

But the media and all the looters just want to go with "Shot cold blood"..."all cops are evil and dont' like black people".

Yeah, I am sure MSNBC is soon to report Mike Brown was just walking home with Ice tea...

Everyone calm down

Let's wait on the facts before we cry foul in either direction

Detained, arrested, whatever. When cops stop differentiating between active violent protestors and the fricking media, there's a big problem.

I am sure it was a peaceful situation and any untrained policemen would have done better

We just learned that one of the journalist had no ID and admitted to giving the policeman some attitude.

CNN is interviewing reporter right now.

Media has been using that McDonalds to plug in their computers and get work done.

Officers came in and said they were shutting the McDonalds down and they had to leave

Reporters were trying to pack their shite and shut down all of their equipment and the officers were giving them a countdown.

He said the funny thing is they were in such a rush to get the reporters out of there yet they kept them there for 15 m after in handcuffs.

I'm all about police brutality when riots and looting are going on, but this is misplaced.

He is a Wash Post and Huff Post contributor so pardon me while I take his outrage with a grain of salt. Watch his video he posted. All he had to do was grab his stuff and head over to where the rest of the reporters were moved to. How come no other reporters were "arrested"?

I read his story this morning and thought "Holy shite this town is insane".

Then I watched the video and thought " this reporter is an exaggerating little bitch. "

Hey guys. I'm late to the party on this story. I know some kid was shot by the cops. Then there were some riots. That's all I know. Who's this Frenchy guy? How bad are the riots now? Any casualties? Any more property damage?

Quick cliffs would be appreciated. TIA
