Man you TD "libertarians" sure are a hoot

picking a fight and then running away isn't noble, and that's what is going on right now. the media is full of count who inflame situations to create stories. this is such a story. i've already said that if there is a bigger group of count than police, it's journalists. that's a personal thing

but we also live in reality, and that is not the place and this is not the time to get cute. like i have made very clear when discussing the police state: do not resist. do not argue. they will kill the shite out of you, so don't give them a reason. this guy did the opposite of that

Three disturbing parts in the video:

1. Stop recording!

2. Is that a cop or a paratrooper?

3. Why are peacefully assembled people being herded out of a mcDs?

I read his story this morning and thought "Holy shite this town is insane".

Then I watched the video and thought " this reporter is an exaggerating little bitch.

such is the media these days

i remember taking media law in law school and reading the self serving bullshite that people would do in order to lead to the caselaw and i just started hating the media. this is before twitter took off and i don't know if facebook was for non-college kids yet even

since then, the media has gotten 100x worse. it is in the business of manufacturing stories, and if you don't let them, they will just lie to manufacture their story. i have no respect for journalists, especially immersive "gonzo" guys who interject themselves into the story

The video is really the kicker. That cop gave him plenty of time to comply but the little frick just wanted to stand there and film him. We can debate whether shutting down the McDonald's was a good idea or not, but when a cop in swat gear tells you to move your arse, you don't stand there filming him and making excuses.

The already-tense situation in Ferguson escalated earlier today, when SWAT teams descended on the largely peaceful protests that have been taking place since an unarmed 18-year-old named Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer Saturday.

If you're doing nothing wrong and not in any immediate danger, sure you do. Unless you're a little bitch that cowers to the whims of a mouthbreathing cop.

1. The cop is asking him to leave the building.... The reporter was dicking around and intentionally trying to get on his nerves.

2. It's a riot situation, I would expect him to be dressed that way. It's not as if he's driving a tank...

3. Who knows why this was happening, but that's an argument we should have with this cops boss. What if a Molotov cocktail had come through the window while dickless was trying to get on that cops nerves?

Normally I would agree that cops are over stepping their bounds, but that video makes it obvious that the reporters had plenty of time to comply. If they want to pick a fight, pick it with the guy who ordered them out of there.

well i don't care if you do this

but when you get detained or arrested, don't act like you have no idea why and were just picked up out of nowhere

when assholes like the media guy intentionally pick fights with the cops to create an necessary and silly situation in some attempt to turn it into a bigger story, all they're really doing is creating an illegitimate story that people will not respect and discredit any real discussion on the issues

The media is contributing to this situation in a bad way and it's sickening. They can't even cover a hurricane or tornado without sensationalizing the facts. This is that scenario times 10 because it's real time.

The cops have plenty of fault to go around here too. It's a bad deal that's not being handled well by the citizens, the police, or the media.

When cops stop differentiating between active violent protestors and the fricking media, there's a big problem.
Even if the media people were TRYING to get arrested?

Sure, but again they have no obligation to comply. Has martial law been declared? No, then the cop has no right to walk into a private business and shut it down and tell people to leave.

I have been watching for days and to call it largely 'peaceful' since he was shot was a complete crock. Spun by a guy that would say this:

Reilly added, "I'm fine. But if this is the way these officers treat a white reporter working on a laptop who moved a little too slowly for their liking, I can't imagine how horribly they treat others."

Race baiting at its best. They baited those cops in hopes of a story. None of us know the back story as to why they were clearing that store out, but from the video it was clear who was initially acting very polite and who were being complete douches hoping to get a story. Congratulations they got it ala the dude who got arrested at the border. 10 minutes of fame. Beautiful.

I have read many comments to the tune of "so I started giving the cop attitude" or "...I would have been snotty too...."

WTF? Yes sir, no sir. Live to tell the tale. I do not understand this "choice" to be confrontational or not.

So reading comprehension isn't your strong suit... You are referring to others days protests and the comment was directed at the specific protest yesterday that was peaceful until the thugs showed up with their toys and started instigating shite.

They do if the private business consented. Do we know if they did? Perhaps, just maybe before running to the defense of those being defiant for a story we should know that? I suspect (but don't know)that the management of that McDonalds knew exactly what was going on and had not objections.

Like I said, that's an issue you take up with the higher ups in the police force who gave the order. Arguing with the guy enforcing the order will get you arrested every time... Which obviously was the reporters goal in the first place. Like SFP said, creating a story out of nothing just to take shots at the cops on the ground.
