I would bet a large sum of money it is a false positive. And I don’t gamble.

They said they tested it twice, but it's still virtue signaling either way.
ETA: Which brings me back to the common sense side of this: Why did it take three days of tournament golf for these results to come back if they test them upon arrival? Why no rapid tests?

Per this article he was tested daily and they obviously use the rapid test.
quote:
The PGA Tour said the Spaniard had come in close contact with a person who was COVID-19 positive, meaning Rahm could play provided he was tested daily. Every test since he arrived Monday came back negative except the one after his second round, which was completed Saturday morning.
The positive test was confirmed as Rahm was playing the 18th hole, knowing nothing except no one was close to him on the leaderboard.

If they're so concerned about contact tracing, why was he even allowed to play in the third round without that rapid test being completed prior to play on Saturday?
Virtue signaling.

No offense taken but we must learn to educate ourselves and you can easily research it yourself and hence be well armed when this happens to you

Timeline of testing results on Saturday:
So it looks like their test took around 4 to 5 hours to get results back along with confirmation.
So I guess some "rapid" test take longer than others.

which was performed after the conclusion of his second round (rain delayed) and before the start of his third round - returned positive at approximately 4.20pm (local time) while Rahm was on the golf course.
'The PGA TOUR's medical adviser requested a confirmatory test on the original sample, which came back at 6.05pm, and was also positive

Think of all the people that died while waiting for that test to comeback

He needs to get the lawyer LeBron used to convince the NBA to allow him to play (and lose) in the playoffs after breaking the NBA’s COVID protocols.

Not bad.
They should just let he and his caddy play by themselves.

But then they would have to sterilize the course....you know wuflu protocol.

I thought Fauci said if a Covid19 positive person wears a mask there’s no danger to others? Rahm should put on a Trump mask and tell the PGA to pound sand.

Quite possibly was not the one they favored to win and cut his legs from underneath him . With the amount of false positives related to Covid test I’d be suing for chance to finish out

I can, in fact, read. There were some conflicting reports about the timeline when I wrote my first post, and I acknowledged that in my follow-up after the protocol was cited in this thread.

So it was perfectly fine for Covid positive people to vote in the Presidential election but not ok to play golf. Makes perfect sense.
