I'm not for it but the anti CCS crowd is 99% nutcase with fake claims.

Also, you can drill through such a layer just like an aquifer or less commercial pay zones.
I’m telling you. It’s going to condemn the fields. No one is going to chance drilling through the plume. It’s all a scam that’s going to hurt future oil and gas production. I’m already hearing that directly from a few smaller operators. There was a group that recently pulled leasing on some Austin Chalk acreage in CENLA because of this.
While it might (might) be safe theoretically, the public is not getting the full story.

Is this process independently profitable for the energy companies?

For the majors doing it, yes. It will generate a huge amount of tax credits.

I've never been for CCS but actual investors in new plants even Saudis like it

There are still well bores that haven’t been plugged. This should be interesting if they start injecting.
I believe a COA for a Class VI permit approved for sequestering CO2 is the permittee is obligated to plug all inactive wells, and even re-plug some that were plugged many moons ago before stricter standards were put into place, within the proposed plum model of the project before injection of CO2 can begin. So to prevent any CO2 that MIGHT migrate into the zone of the old wellbores from escaping back into the atmosphere.

I didn't know enough about either one to know who to vote for, but after seeing that Landry endorsed Letlow, I will be voting for Fleming.

I like Landry, but I'm against this one! Letlow was sent to Washington D.C. because her husband, who was duly elected by the voters, passed away way too early. Pity for a widow shouldn't be the reason for sending someone to represent us in D.C. We need a person with backbone to think for themselves, not a "yes" person that Letlow seems to be.
FLEMING ALL THE WAY!

FLEMING ALL THE WAY!

Sadly, most Louisianans will not make this connection, and will assume that she has the mental chops for a demanding job. We are in for a rude awakening unless something intervenes.
With such a huge lead, it would be stupid for Letlow to participate in a debate.

The Louisiana Republican Party is corrupt and rigged by a few at the expense for the many.
Grigsby, Bollinger, Guidry and others, will cash in under the Landry governorship in ways that none of us will benefit.
Letlow is part of the circle to keep the band together so that legislation and contracts get dealt to benefit a few

They better start digging up the Rouses on Burbank then.
I don't see how they can find them all. I know where a couple are that disappeared off SONRIS. Only people that now know where they are located are the farmers and the physical well file holder.
This whole deal is a potential disaster waiting to happen.

Have you seen the report/story from maybe last year where an old wellbore someone’s home was built on top of started leaking produced water?

The Trump endorsement has killed Fleming. I don't think Trump realizes what a RINO she is. She is everything he is trying to get rid of.

Letlow would be worse than Cassidy.

Fleming is documented to have voted at least for 3 carbon capture funding bills while a Congressman.
Carbon capture isn’t the issue. It’s carbon capture and sequestration. Love how you Letlow ladies play games with this issue.

If you think Letlow is a better choice, it's because your orange daddy told you so.
Posted on 6/1/26 at 2:53 pm to ragincajun03
A leopard can’t change its spots. Letlow has a history of liberal ideas and education and DEI advocacy. When they want to get elected they will say anything. Once elected they go back to their instincts.
I love Trump but I never heard what he has against Fleming and why he thinks Letlow would be better except for Fleming having ruffled Trump’s feathers. I’m ok with Fleming being his one man not Trumps. His history is conservative and he earned his spots long ago.
