re: John Fleming confronts Rep. Letlow for CCS support, not participating in TV debates

Oil companies have never drilled for CO2.
Companies have drilled wells for CO2 in Northern NM and Southern CO, produced them and transported via pipelines, and safely, down to the Permian for EOR operations for decades.
Now…is that the same as what this capture and pure sequestration stuff is? No.
But just addressing your statement claiming oil companies have never drilled for CO2.

The smart thing for Letlow to do right now is nothing at all. I will have to figure out how Edwin Edwards’ great line about the live boy or dead girl applies here.

He needs to get his name out there. I never heard of Fleming up until this race.

not cassidy vs not cassidy. cool...

Does anybody other than political junkies watch tv debates? They are only good for the opponent or biased media to splice up sound bites to make it sound scandalous.
Maybe the CCS thing resonates with some voters, I don't know.
Fleming just comes off as desperate. I think he would be better served in talking about what he will do when elected, but that's just me.

I have begun to lean in this direction, as well. Pure insanity issues from their mouths on a daily basis.

Fleming doesn’t appear to be arguing LA DNR’s jurisdiction. He’s stating to pull back the federal taxpayer funding of these projects, which were basically forced upon industry by the previous industry’s EPA.
LOGA is for it. Mike Moncla told me that Soros and other far lefties were behind the anti CCS campaign. Russell Honore and the NOLA envirowhackos are anti CCS.

Oil companies have never drilled for CO2.
Shell in 1951 started it.
Try harder.

Carbon Capture and Sequestration is really hideous to the people of Louisiana said Fleming.
Fleming is documented to have voted at least for 3 carbon capture funding bills while a Congressman. Hes starting to sound like Massie, attacking someone else for doing what he already has done in the past
Plus, hes 75 years old. We need to stop allowing 81 year olds from wandering around the Capitol casting votes that they couldn't stay awake for during debate
He needs to serve out his term as treasurer and enjoy the years he has left

They have used CO 2 for enhanced oil recovery for a little over 50 years, they inject it into wells to force residual oil out of formations.
I took down a large amine unit north of Snider TX used to extract CO2, all stainless steel equipment, for CO2 flooding of the same field. It was built in the 1960's and taken down 20 years ago as the high CO2 concentrated natural gas had played out.

A friend had two large CO2 compressors for sale located in Midland/Odessa area. 10,000 HP electric motors for each for CCS in the Permian (not EOR) from a cancelled project almost 2 decades ago.
FWIW, the only problems with hydraulic fracturing were in YANKEE states where the state regulators didn't understand geological formations and would have never been approved in LA or TX.
For removal of CO2 with an Amine unit. 1440 psig absorber only needs to be heat treated carbon steel. Brad Leblanc is full of crap. A column built in 1950 could do just fine today but insurance companies won't cover alloys used before 516-70 came along. Obviously talking out oof his behind on this and likely other things.

the guy who cited him is from Colfax. The only reason I know about Colfax is there used to be steward dept personnel for offshore that came from there. So, the cook, wash clothes and mop floors.

Willie Mount as mayor of Lake Chuck. Fiscal hawk and when she became a state legislator to the right of most GOP on fiscal matters. The reason that the City of Lake Charles had such a large emergency fund was because she got the council to buy into doing it. When Rita hit the city could have run for 6 months with full services and no tax income. She is the one who started it. Mayor Roach didn't phuck it up

You’re right. We should have a thread for all wasteful energy and environmental projects starting in 1960.
It would be as long as a couple NSFW girls threads on the OT board, which by the way, are great.

I liked former LA State Rep Simone Champagne a lot. Even before she switched her affiliation to “R”, she was more fiscally conservative than the majority of her Republican colleagues and then-Gov Bobby Jindal.

“Companies have drilled for CO2 into deep formations Northern NM and Southern CO”
You are right, also Jackson Dome in Mississippi.
I didn’t know there were natural CO2 collections and CO2 was extracted and used for enhanced oil recovery.
I was wrong,I apologize for asking if you were retarded.I didn’t know what I was talking about.
I have.a question- if these companies are determined to collect CO2 and sequester it wouldn’t it make sense to pump it into these reservoirs that have had CO2 removed to replace what was extracted.
These reservoirs obviously have correct geological formations to contain the CO2 without it leaking.
I still don’t like the idea of drilling wells all over Louisiana and pumping CO2
into formations that are not proven.
Again,my apologies.

Fleming has a higher chance at dropping out the race than winning it
