Ok You are arguing you are speaking charitably of humans by suggesting that we should stop feeding the hungry and providing shelter for the homeless because you said something about a bus ticket.

You suggested that the homeless humans would "diminish" if we stop providing for their needs. You said the homeless humans wouldn't be "your problem" anymore if we put them on a bus to some unclear destination.

Not bus…plane.

Send them all to Hawaii.

The beaches are nice, and they have nutjobs like you to take care of them as they lounge on the beach.

Wrong.

I said a more welcoming destination with robust services.

You aren't very good at this.

Does this include Cubbie's job? I would love for her to be classified as Jeff Landry's employee!

New Orleans IS an issue. The aforementioned is just one of many.

Use the funds to transport them all to the West Coast where their kind are wanted.

I donate to my church for this reason.

Correct. I’m not good at understanding you.

You said we need to diminish homeless humans by ceasing all assistance. Are you suggesting kidnapping these humans and putting them on buses and sending them to Mexico or Canada to provide for their needs so these humans aren’t “our your problem” anymore?

Oh. You think you only need to care about others while you’re at church. That actually makes a lot of sense. Good thing Jesus didn’t share that mentality.

Didn't say that.

You sure like putting words in people's mouths.

Please do come back when you are able to discuss or debate points actually made.

Serious questions for Cubbie:

As a society, what should be do about homelessness?

What is society's obligations to the homeless who are on the streets because of their own bad choices, the most obvious being drug addiction?

What rights do other members of society have to not be forced to live with the consequences of homelessness?

I know you aren't directing this to me, but I do have thoughts..

First step is to evaluate and classify them into the following four categories:

1) Mental Instability
2) Addiction
3) Hardship
4) Personal Preference

Of course, there will be overlap in many cases, but classify by most prominent cause.

Based on classification, mandate help for the first two, offer *real* assistance (I can elaborate) to the third, mandate removal to a refuge for the fourth.

That’s not really the question. We lump many societal ills into “homelessness.” It's way more complicated than someone simply not having a place to sleep.

The questions are:

What do we do about the mentally ill when they refuse treatment?

What do we do about drug addicts who refuse treatment?

What do we do about people coming out of incarceration without friends or family to stay with?

What do we do about veterans who have been broken by their service and struggle when they return to society?
